Mack is a big, handsome, friendly shepherd-mix male whose owner had to surrender him due to unforeseen circumstances. He's a little hesitant on first meeting, and seems to prefer women to men, but once he's over his initial shyness, he's a sweet, friendly, cuddly boy. He can be a little protective of his family, but does not get aggressive. Once he learns that everything is safe, he's back to being his friendly self. His former owner stated he does well with adults, children, other dogs and cats. We have not tested him with small children or with cats. He can be a little selective with other dogs. He has decent potty habits and is accustomed to being leash walked. He is crate-trained and does well during his foster family's absences from home. Maverick is AKC registered He is 2 years old and full of life and such an incredible dog. We got him when he was only a few weeks old and we are the only family he knows, he warms up to people really fast and bonds with those who play with him and gives him treats etc. He needs a large yard to play in and would be great with other dogs to play with. I would prefer he goes to a home out in the county or someone who has a large land lot so he has plenty of room to run and explore. He loves going for car rides and to the park. He loves to play with other friendly dogs. He is an inside dog! Needs to go to a loving family that will let him live inside! He needs lots of play and exercise and a new family that can provide all the stimulation he can handle.

iaro is a dog currently housed at Michiana Humane Society in Michigan City, IN. We are working with them to find a forever home for Kiaro. He came to them in April as an owner surrender. Owner stated she had gotten him on Facebook, and only had him for 1 week. He is approximately 5 years old, neutered, vaccinated, and heartworm positive. Heartworm treatment will be provided by either Michiana Humane Society or SAR. He does well with dogs and cats. Only adopters with past German Shepherd or similar breed experience will be considered. Upon assessment with SAR, Kiaro is a great dog who needs a confident owner willing to provide positive reinforcement training. He needs a patient owner willing to go slowly with him, and has some head-shyness. If he feels uncomfortable with your movements, he will provide a light correction, which can seem scary when coming from a 91 lb dog, but does not have the intent to hurt. He also needs some help redirecting his energy when excited. He knows commands and gets along with both men and women. His favorite volunteer at the shelter is a man. Kiaro loves to play, and will fetch all day. He will add a lot of love and entertainment to the right household! Although he is located in Michigan City, IN, transportation can be provided for the right adopter.

This young girl has many great years ahead of her and will be a loving, loyal companion for her adopter. Sheba does need to be the only fur-child in her forever home.
