Story
Trenton was pulled from a high kill shelter where his fate was grim. He has since been in a foster home with other dogs and children of all ages. He is housebroken. Trenton plays well with his foster dog siblings. He even sits at a barrier gate whining when one of his less social foster dog brothers is being grumpy. Trenton has some trauma in his past and can be extremely timid in the beginning. He will require a patient owner to baby him and understand that he comes around slowly. He is not aggressive, more of a cryer and cowers. Trenton does best in a household with another dog. Potential owner must have another dog in the household or adopt two at the same time. We will not adopt Trenton out as an only dog.    For Pet's Sake Rescue is a Mississippi based rescue. All animals are currently in MS. Mississippi is overpopulated with too many animals, not enough adopters, and many high kill shelters. For Pet's Sake Rescue saves each animal from a different background.  ***Breed input is required for each platform but is not guaranteed to be accurate. We do not DNA test. We rescue animals from different situations. We discuss breed assignments with our vets to label them as accurately as possible.*** For Pet's Sake Rescue transports animals to other states for better adoption potential. Our goal is to keep animals alive and out of kennels into their forever homes as quickly as possible. Each animal is quarantined and vetted during their time in our care. Each adopted pet is spayed/neutered, vaccinated, dewormed, microchipped and has current flea treatment unless otherwise noted.  You can visit our website at www.forpetssakerescue.org for our full adoption process and adoption application. Once we review your application and check your vet reference, we will contact you to proceed. If both parties agree to the adoption, we will send you an Adoption Contract with an invoice. Once the invoice is paid, your pet is "on hold" for you to pick up or we can transport the pet to a designated location closer to you via transport. Transports are arranged for specific dates. We will discuss these dates and locations with you during the initial phone call.  We are currently unable to adopt pets to ME and RI residents. Any of our adoptable animals can be transported unless otherwise noted in their profile. View all of our adopted animals at www.forpetssakerescue.org ##1944395##

Story
Hendrix was on the side of the road looking for food. He was severly underweight and clearly had been alone for a while. Hendrix was eager to have company and was an easy rescue. He appreciates slow movements and low energy levels when he is acclimating. He does great with female dogs, he takes a while to get use to male dogs. He takes a few weeks to settle in. He did not play with his foster dog siblings for weeks. We thought he liked being alone when suddenly one day he started playing tug-of-war with another dog and has continued to interact playfully since. Hendrix needs a soft, understanding adopter to give him the time he needs to acclimate. He does not do well with change. Patience is key!   For Pet's Sake Rescue is a Mississippi based rescue.
