Magic – The Midnight Lady Who’s Slowly Conjuring Trust, One Tiny “Mew” at a Time Magic is a sleek, all-black adult beauty with a coat that swallows light and luminous eyes that seem to hold every secret of the universe. She moves like a whisper—there one moment, gone the next, leaving only the faint jingle of a toy she decided to bat at 3 a.m. when she thought no one was watching. She’s still writing the early chapters of her trust story. Most days she watches the world from the safety of her favorite cubby, but every single morning and evening she pads to the front of her kennel and offers the softest, sweetest little “mrrp?” you’ve ever heard. Translation: “Excuse me, food-giver, it is time.” That tiny meow is pure magic—it’s the first spell she’s chosen to cast on a human, and it works every single time. Touch is still on the “advanced-level” list. Hands are interesting from a distance, but up close they’re still firmly in the “mysterious and possibly cursed” category. Same goes for being picked up—Magic prefers all four paws on solid ground, thank you. We’re celebrating the small victories: she no longer flees when you sit quietly nearby, and sometimes she’ll even play with a wand toy if you keep your movements slow and your expectations gentle. We haven’t formally introduced her to other cats yet, but she watches the nightly zoomie crew with relaxed ears and curious eyes—no hissing, no puffing, just quiet interest. We suspect she’d be perfectly content with another calm, respectful cat who speaks “personal space” fluently, or as the sole enchanting queen of a peaceful kingdom. Magic is searching for a patient, adult-only home with someone who understands that love can start as a single soft meow in the morning and grow—one slow blink, one brave step, one daring toy pounce—at a time. Give her quiet routines, safe hiding spots that slowly turn into lounging spots, and the gift of time, and one day you’ll realize the shy shadow has become your most devoted companion. Because FIV is spread only through deep bite wounds, FIV positive cats are able to live with FIV negative cats in stable social environments.
