Story
FIV+DOB: 10/24/2021 Meet Sabrina – The Enchanting Black Cat! &#226&#156&#168 Once upon a time, Sabrina was a powerful witch… until a little oops in spellcasting turned her into the sleek, stunning black cat she is today! But don’t worry—she’s fully embraced her feline form and is now looking for her forever home (no magic required!). At 3 years old, Sabrina is as enchanting as they come—sweet, chill, and always happy to be around people. She won’t cast any spells (probably), but she will charm you with her affectionate nature and laid-back vibe. Whether she’s lounging in a sunbeam or keeping you company on the couch, Sabrina is the perfect familiar for anyone in need of a little extra magic in their life. Are you ready to bring this bewitching beauty home? Adopt Sabrina today! Come meet me at the cage-free Adoption Center! All cats are spayed or neutered, vaccinated and tested for FIV/FeLV. **If interested in adopting me, please fill out an online adoption application at https://colonycats.org/adoption_app.html to expedite the process. Due to the large number of inquiries received, we are unable to respond to emails quickly.** Feline Immunodeficiency Virus positive cats can live normal lives both in quality and duration. They do take special care in terms of monitoring them for signs of infection.  FIV can be passed from cat to cat via deep bite wounds, but not from casual contact so positive cats can live with negative cats without the fear of spreading FIV as long as they get along and are spayed/neutered. Story
FELV+DOB: 9/25/2023 Mr. Peabody’s story started on the streets. Found as a young stray in rough shape, he was brought to us in July 2024 and has since made a full recovery. Today, this handsome orange tabby is healthy, playful, and—no exaggeration—one of the sweetest cats we’ve ever met. From the moment you meet him, Mr. Peabody will trot right up for pets, head bumps, and purrs. He loves everyone—strangers, visitors, staff—and his affectionate, easygoing nature makes him the kind of cat who instantly wins hearts. During his veterinary care, we discovered that Mr. Peabody is FeLV-positive (Feline Leukemia Virus). FeLV is a viral infection that affects the immune system, making it harder for a cat’s body to fight off infections. While it’s not curable, it is manageable with good veterinary care, a healthy diet, and a stress-free indoor lifestyle. Cats with FeLV need routine wellness checks, prompt treatment for any illness, and regular preventative care like vaccines and parasite control. FeLV is spread between cats through close contact (like grooming or sharing food bowls), so Mr. Peabody must either be an only cat or live with other FeLV-positive companions. It’s important to know that FeLV affects cats differently—some live only a few years, while others remain healthy for much longer. Right now, Mr. Peabody is in excellent health, full of playful kitten energy, and showing no signs of illness. What he needs most is a loving home where he can enjoy life to the fullest, surrounded by people who adore him as much as he’ll adore them. All cats are spayed or neutered, vaccinated and tested for FIV/FeLV. Story
FIV+, DiabeticDOB: 10/24/2021 Snowdrift is a sweet and affectionate 3 year old cat looking for a forever home or foster family. Despite being found as a stray, he has a loving personality and adores attention, especially when being brushed. Snowdrift is diabetic and FIV+ but can live a long, happy life with proper care. He can coexist well with other cats but swats at dogs.   Feline Immunodeficiency Virus positive cats can live normal lives both in quality and duration.
