Captain Lava is a ginger male cat born March 28, 2025. He was adopted from Edgar and Ivy’s when he was still a kitten and spent his first year growing up in a home of his own. When his adoptive dad joined the military and learned he would be away for two years, Captain Lava had to return to our shelter.Coming back was difficult for him. Captain Lava was confused and frightened and didn’t understand why everything he knew had suddenly changed. With time, patience, and lots of encouragement, he has worked hard to be brave and learn to trust again. He is finally ready to put the past behind him and find a family of his own.Captain Lava is neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped. He already knows what it feels like to have a home, and we hope someone will give this sweet ginger boy the second chance he has worked so hard for.

Meet Shuri!Shuri is a beautiful female cat believed to be around three years old. She is one of the 38 cats recently rescued by Edgar and Ivy from a heartbreaking hoarding situation.Shuri and the other cats were living crowded together in a very small space with almost no resources. They were suffering in the extreme heat with limited access to food and water. The cats were unsterilized, extremely thin, and many were suffering from upper respiratory infections. The psychological stress was overwhelming. Several of the cats, including Shuri, had groomed themselves excessively from stress, leaving areas of significant hair loss.These cats had been through hell.When Shuri arrived at Edgar and Ivy, our veterinary team immediately triaged her and began treating the physical effects of what she had endured. She received the medical care, proper nutrition, parasite treatment, and safety that she had been missing for far too long.Shuri has now been treated for her medical conditions. She is spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, and on flea prevention. Her body is healing, her beautiful coat is beginning its recovery, and she will never again have to compete with dozens of other cats for the basic necessities of life.For Shuri and the other survivors, recovery isn't only physical. Some are handling the psychological effects of their past better than others, and we are allowing each of them to heal at their own pace. Shuri is safe now. She has food. She has water. She has medical care. And she has people watching over her.What she needs next is something she has never truly had: a safe indoor home and a family of her very own.

LadaiLadai is a tiny tortie girl with a big heart. Born on May 16, 2025, she’s still very small for her age and will likely stay a petite little lady. Ladai was found outside all alone as a tiny kitten, but she’s grown into a loving, playful sweetheart who’s ready for her forever home. She is spayed, vaccinated, and microchipped.
