Captain Lava is a ginger male cat born March 28, 2025. He was adopted from Edgar and Ivy’s when he was still a kitten and spent his first year growing up in a home of his own. When his adoptive dad joined the military and learned he would be away for two years, Captain Lava had to return to our shelter.Coming back was difficult for him. Captain Lava was confused and frightened and didn’t understand why everything he knew had suddenly changed. With time, patience, and lots of encouragement, he has worked hard to be brave and learn to trust again. He is finally ready to put the past behind him and find a family of his own.Captain Lava is neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped. He already knows what it feels like to have a home, and we hope someone will give this sweet ginger boy the second chance he has worked so hard for.

Courtney Love is a beautiful gray and white female cat who came to Edgar and Ivy’s from an animal control with four tiny babies. She was painfully thin, weighing only three pounds, but she was doing everything she could to care for her kittens.Then panleukopenia struck.One by one, Courtney lost every one of her babies to this terrible virus. Somehow, despite being so sick and so terribly underweight herself, Courtney survived.Today, she is healthy and has more than doubled her weight. Her body has healed, and now it is time for this sweet girl to have a life that is about more than simply surviving.Courtney Love is spayed, vaccinated, and microchipped. She has known hunger, sickness, and loss. Meet Rarity!Rarity is a beautiful tabby and white female kitten born January 7, 2026. She was found outside with her sibling, where the two little ones had been trying to survive on their own.When Rarity came to us, she was quite dirty and in need of help. She was suffering from flea anemia as well as several infections, and her little body had already been through far too much. She needed medical care, good nutrition, and plenty of time to recover.We nursed Rarity back to health, and she has come such a long way from the sick little kitten who first arrived. With the difficult part of her story now behind her, she is healthy and ready to find the family she has been waiting for.Rarity is spayed, vaccinated, and microchipped. Now all she needs is a safe indoor home where she can spend the rest of her life loved, comfortable, and never struggling to survive outside again.This beautiful girl got her second chance. Now she is ready for her happily ever after.
