Meet Tigger 🐾 Tigger’s story is one of resilience. Since 2021, he’s been in and out of the Charleston Animal Society, where he was adopted, returned, and picked up again. Most recently, he came back in heartbreaking condition: emaciated, with mange, injuries that suggested he’d been through cruelty, and a spirit that still refused to give up. Despite all that, Tigger has a heart full of love and a zest for life. On walks, he’s a gentle old soul who loves soaking up nature right by your side. Once inside, he transforms into a playful goofball—tossing his toys in the air with wild delight before settling down for cuddles. He knows when to be silly, how to be affectionate and he knows when it’s time to chill. ❤️ Tigger is determined when it comes to affection, lol. When he wants love, he’ll make sure you know it, and he’ll happily curl up next to you once he’s gotten his fill. Xena is a 3-year-old Plott Hound mix weighing 52 pounds. A delightful girl, she came to us from a family who didn't want her or her ten puppy litter. How sad! But of course that's where we came in. Xena's foster says she is sweet, affectionate, playful, great with other dogs and very food motivated. (Better keep a box of bones around the house!) This girl who has been treated for heartworm would make a great addition to your family! Ralph is a good ol’ boy! He is a hound mix, probably bluetick and Catahoula, who is about 8 years old and 60 pounds. He loves going for car rides and long walks but also snoozing in the recliner. (If you are already in the recliner, he will sit in your lap!) He has a dog sibling and gets along with her. Ralph must also be part chow hound as he loves food! Ralph would enjoy a home with another friendly dog to play with but please, no cats and only teenage children. Ralph is crate trained, housetrained, neutered, fully vaccinated, and up-to-date on flea, tick, and heartworm prevention. Would Ralph be perfect for you? Story
If you are looking for a cuddle buddy, Atlas is the guy for you. His unique looks and amazingly sweet and inquisitive personality are products of his rich breed mixture. Atlas (also known as "Mr. Steal Your Heart and Pillow") enjoys long walks, short car rides, exploring, cooling off in creeks, lounging around the house, playing tug, unstuffing plush toys, wrestling and playing the bitey face game with his doggy sibling, cuddling in bed, and anything else that allows him to spend time with his family. At almost 3 years old, he has outgrown most undesirable puppy behaviors, but is still an active boy who requires adequate exercise. He does well with children and other dogs. He has done well with cats! He likes to lead walks and can be overly eager to meet new dog friends, so some training in those areas is recommended. He also gets overwhelmed in busy settings and sometimes experiences stranger danger so it is advised to avoid crowded settings unless addressed by a trainer. He is overnight crate trained, but he becomes anxious when left in the crate for extended periods of time during the day so his ideal home would have a pet parent who is home for the greater part of the day. Atlas is learning how to pull carts. He is a very smart dog and seeks to please his owners. Atlas is house/potty trained, neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines and preventatives.
