NEWBIE ALERT!!&#226&#156&#168 Meet Tank! This brindle boy is a plott hound mix! He’s 6 months old and around 35 lbs. Tank is super friendly. He loves other dogs and kids. He loves the outdoors and to play with all the other dogs. He’s a great family pet. He will be a large sized adult. Tank is utd, dewormed and neutered. Our adoptions are NOT on a first come first serve basis and there is no fee to apply! We never state any animal is fully House-trained. New environments, situations, families, routines, ect. can lead to accidents even with the most well trained animals.  All dogs have a $175 adoption fee which includes vet check, age appropriate shots (atleast 2 sets for puppies), dewormer, heartworm test (if over 6 months), rabies (if atleast 16 weeks) and spay/neuter! Puppies will be altered before adoption. All rescues and shelters practice pediatric spay and neuter. This is essential in our rescue efforts and it is a policy that we will stick by. All dogs over 8 weeks and 2 pounds will be altered before adoption. There are no exceptions to this rule on all healthy and adoptable dogs. We have researched and discussed in depth with multiple vets everything on pediatric spay and neuter and from a rescue stand point it must be done. Please do not ask for an extension on spay and neutering, it will NOT be granted on a healthy puppy!  Puppies/Dogs that are not available for adoption due to vetting not being complete can be reserved with an approved application and a non refundable $50 deposit. Deposits can ONLY be submitted once the rescue has been in contact on your approval and it has been requested through Wags and Whiskers. This deposit is applied to your adoption fee and the remaining $125 is due at pick up. Wags and Whiskers is an all-volunteer rescue. We also have full-time jobs and Families. We will try to answer all questions and applications in a timely manner. Please be patient and bear with us . Do not contact any of the vet clinics we work with, as they are a vet clinic and can not answer questions on behalf of Wags and Whiskers. All questions and comments must go directly through the rescue. Thank you for your understanding. Sylvie is spunky, playful and full of life. She adores other animals and kids. She would make the perfect family addition. She is utd, spayed and ready for her forever home. UPDATE!! Meet Fancy. She is a gorgeous Plott Hound mix that was taken in as a stray by one of our amazing fosters. She’s young at just 9-12 months and 52 lbs. She’s a spunky and energetic girl who loves playing with others and romping in the yard. She is doing well in the house and crate and good with all size dogs and kids. She’s yes, he neg(tested below detectable levels), spayed and ready for her forever home!  Our adoptions are NOT on a first come first serve basis and there is no fee to apply! Baylor is a three year old medium breed who found herself in our care after a kind community member found her wandering around Gulfport in late December 2025. When she first came in she was very scared and nervous, clinging to any person who would allow her into their lap. She has since become a friendly girl who really just wants to snuggle. She weighs 39 pounds, is gentle, calm, and incredibly sweet, finding comfort in simple moments spent close to the people she trusts. She is dog friendly but would love another kated back couch potato to hang out with. Baylor is heartworm positive, but with treatment and a little patience, she has a long, happy life ahead of her. Our HSSM Wellness Clinic does discount the treatment for adopters. Baylor is waiting for you to come meet her and take her to her forever home. Hunner is a incredibly sweet and gentle 3 year old Catahoula Leopard dog who recently came into our care as a stray. He was picked up by Harrison County Animal Control on January 22nd, 2026 with no collar or microchip to identify him. He loves to be a lap dog and snuggle close to you at all times. He has a beautiful dapple coat color, is only 38lbs,great on a leash, and knows how to sit and lay down. We think he would be great with kids due to his gentle demeanor. He is great with other dogs, and would love to meet your pup if you have one. Catahoulas are a highly intelligent working breed who are perfect for farm life or a household who like to go on adventures. Hunner is heartworm positive by no fault of his own. However, our HSSM Wellness Clinic does discount the treatment for adopters and he is currently seeking treatment sponsorship to help him find his forever home.
