Meet Betty Sue; this pretty girl has absolutely been through it in her life. She is absolutely scared of humans and human interaction, but even so, she tries her best to overcome her fears! Betty Sue does not allow herself to be picked up (yet), but she is super smart and knows how to "load up" into a carrier to be carried wherever needed. She learns routines quickly and will gladly follow her dog group through the doggy door. Staff lovingly refer to Betty Sue as "Olive Oil" (that's Popeye the Sailor's girlfriend)  due to the appearance of having 2 differently sized eyes. If you are patient, and willing to give a scared dog the chance to prove herself, please apply to meet and/or foster Betty Sue today! She gave birth at our rescue. She is now all ready to find her forever home. Cici can be a bit shy when you first meet her but once you have gained her trust she is a love. This sweet girl just wants to be loved by a family. Meet Chance Meet Chance! This sweetheart of a six-year-old came to our shelter needing a new beginning. Chance has lived with another dog and prefers a female companion; he is shy and a little nervous meeting new people so he will need a owner who is dedicated to taking some time to get to know him. Chance has previously lived with cats and would love to have one in his future home. Kids would be okay as long as they are gentle and love shy animals. Come down to Butte Humane Society and take some time to meet Chance today! All animals adopted from Butte Humane Society are evaluated by a veterinarian, spayed or neutered, provided with vaccines, microchipped, dewormed, and receive heartworm, flea/tick preventatives prior to adoption.

Story
Bitsy is a sweet little furball that needs a lot of love. She was my elderly mothers little lap baby, but my mom passed away recently and I just dont have the time to give Bitsy the attention she needs and deserves. She is well behaved and loves to cuddle and be close to her guardian. She gets along well with other friendly dogs and has no problem following an alpha pup around all day. Her only real issue is that she has little anxiety attacks when new people or children are present, so she barks and gets agitated. Not in an aggressive way, but in a frightened way. She will warm up to adults very quickly, but we cant figure out why she is afraid of children since she was never abused or mistreated by any kids before. It breaks my heart to give her up but my work schedule is not conducive to her having a life of love and attention that she is used to. She would do best with a retired couple or lady that is home a lot and likes having a small, lovable pet to sit with and sleep with.
