Meet Penelope! Penelope is a petite 1 year old 11.8-pound Miniature Pinscher–Chihuahua mix with a gentle spirit and a whole lot of charm. Her breed identification is a best guess based on visible characteristics and may not reflect her full genetic makeup, but one thing is certain—Penelope is an absolute sweetheart. Penelope came to the shelter after being rescued by Animal Control, where she was found in a very underweight condition and in need of care. She is now safe and beginning a new chapter. Given her past experiences, it’s understandable that Penelope can be a little skeptical of new people at first, but with kindness and time, she shows her softer, affectionate side. Penelope is looking for a lighthearted, patient adopter who is willing to help her build confidence through positive reinforcement training. Gentle encouragement, consistency, and respectful interactions will go a long way in helping her feel secure and understood. Once she feels safe, Penelope enjoys being close to her people and sharing quiet, comforting moments. Her small size makes her a great fit for many homes, and she will thrive in an environment that offers stability, compassion, and reassurance.
