Story
Hi My name is Button and I am the sweetest girl you will ever meet. I love people and other dogs and would love to give you a hug and a kiss. Some of the things I enjoy are spending time outside in the fresh air, playing with my stuffed toys or chewing on a nice hard bone. I am very smart and love to be challenged. My foster family is working on basic commands with me such as sit, stay, come, off and drop. I recently had surgery to fix my broken leg after being hit by a car. I already feel better and am thankful for my doctor friends. While I am becoming a little more active everyday, I still have to be careful. I am looking for an active family that will take me places and play with me. I love car rides, do great meeting new people, and am looking forward to my next adventure. Because I am so high energy and sometimes do not know how big and strong I am I would do best with a family that has older mature children. I am very curious and excited about cats so it may be best that there be no cats in the family. If you would like to take me up on that offer for hugs and kisses, fill out an application at https://cheylasrescue.org/dadopt_app.php and mention me by name....Button!

Story
This friend has just arrived because their owner passed away. While owners can provide some history on their pets, our medical and behavioral teams will still evaluate them. Dogs that have lived in homes previously typically have some training established, but we cannot guarantee that those behaviors will remain consistent in a new home environment. They are pending interactions with other animals at the shelter until they have been cleared by our vet. Our staff will spend some time getting to know them and we will update their bio with more information as we learn. If you are interested in adopting this dog, please submit an adoption questionnaire! Our adoption process is on a first-come, best-match basis and we are not able to hold animals. If you are interested in this specific dog but it ends up not being the best fit upon meeting, our adoption counselors will work with you to help find a match! All household members, including children and other dogs, must come along for the meeting to make sure it's a good fit. If a match is made, we encourage same-day adoptions! Our adoption fees include the animals' spay/neuter, microchip, age-appropriate vaccinations and preventatives, fecal testing, heartworm testing, and a small bag of food to get you started.
