Story
Perry is one of those dogs who just makes everything more fun. With his white coat, playful black spots, and soulful eyes, he’s as handsome as they come! He absolutely loves going for walks, especially the kind where he gets to stop and sniff all the interesting things along the way. He’s got a curious nose and a big appreciation for the little things in life. If you're someone who enjoys a good, slow stroll with a happy four-legged companion, Perry will be right there with you. He’s also super food motivated. Treats are the key to his heart, and he’ll do just about anything for a tasty snack. That makes him a fun dog to train and a great match for someone who enjoys working on tricks or building a strong bond through positive reinforcement. Weight: 60 lbs Spayed/Neutered: Yes! Up to date on vaccines: Yes! Microchipped: Yes! Housebroken: Yes! They will potty outside every time or nearly every time (rarely has accidents). Crate-trained: Unknown! They have never been crated while in foster care. Leash behavior: Working on it! They are still learning what the leash is all about and may have some behaviors that will require continued positive reinforcement training. Dog sociability: They don't like them! They do not get along with other dogs and need to be the only dog in the home. Cat sociability: They do not do well with cats! They will chase, bite, attack, or otherwise harm or frighten cats. Kid sociability: No kids, please! They are afraid of kids or reactive toward them, or they have a history of behaviors that make them incompatible with children. Likes: Snackies, walkies, hanging at home with his people Dislikes: Space invaders If you’d like to meet Perry, please fill out an adoption application at animalcareleague.org/adoptions and send us an email at adoption@animalcareleague.org!

Story
Is there anything cuter than a puppy? Before you decide to take the plunge into raising a puppy, keep in mind the amount of commitment it takes to raise a puppy. Puppies are not housetrained; they don’t know that shoes are not chew toys. Puppies won’t know any of the cool tricks adult dogs know, like how to sit or walk on a leash. They need lots of patience, love, supervision, and proper socialization, too. A great way to bond with a new puppy would be to take a positive reinforcement-based class together. This pet has some medical needs that may exist outside of the regular expected vet care costs. Even though Special Care animals sometimes need advanced medical support, they pay back tenfold in gratitude, sweetness, and cuddles. If you’re curious about this particular animal’s Special Care status, please ask a staff member or volunteer. If you are up for the adventure of raising a puppy, swing by our adoption center on 510 N. LaSalle, to meet this sweetheart and their friends in person. We offer same-day adoptions, free parking, and guide you through the adoption process from start to finish. Learn more about hours & the adoption process at https:/anticruelty.org/adopt-info.

Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Meatloaf is the definition of a laid-back best friend. This handsome guy is happiest when he's curled up on the couch beside his favorite person, soaking up all the love and attention he can get. He's a true cuddle bug who prefers naps over playtime, chooses treats over toys every time, and will gladly spend the day relaxing with you. Meatloaf does wonderfully with other dogs and enjoys having canine companions around, but he truly prefers the company of his humans. Because he forms strong bonds with his people and doesn't enjoy being left alone, he's looking for a home where someone is around often to keep him company. He would also do best in a home without children, where he can enjoy a calm, predictable environment. Meatloaf has earned an A+ in house training and is making great progress with his crate training. Quick stats! --Dogs: does great with other dogs in the home --Cats: unknown --Children: would do best in a home without children --Likes: cozy naps, tasty treats, cuddling on the couch, attention from his humans, relaxing, and spending time with his people If Meatloaf sounds like the right fit for your home, fill out an adoption application today! muttsofthemidway.org/adopt
