Meet Marco, a sweet 1.5-year-old Pointer/Hound mix who is ready for a fresh start in a loving home. Marco was found in the Metroparks with another dog named Polo. No one came to claim them, and when Marco arrived at the shelter, he was dirty, thin, and in poor health. But with a few weeks of good food, care, and attention from shelter staff and volunteers, Marco has completely turned around. Polo has since been adopted. Now healthy and full of love, Marco is living in a foster home with a similar-sized female dog. He’s proven to be dog-friendly, playful, very goofy, and affectionate. A meet and greet with any resident dog will help ensure a smooth introduction. Marco pulls a little on the leash but has a medium energy level and a huge love for food, making training and continued socialization a breeze.Marco is crate-trained and enjoys both activity and downtime. He is also housetrained. He’s the kind of dog who’s just as happy going for a walk as he is sitting quietly beside you on a park bench. While we’re not sure how he does with cats, he’s been wonderful with people and dogs alike.Marco is available for adoption. He’s neutered, microchipped, heartworm negative, and up to date on all vaccinations.
