Story

Meet Rex!! 🦖 Making this decision absolutely breaks my heart but I know it is the best decision for Rex. My boyfriend and I got Rex last April from a shelter. Rex is estimated to be around 6 years old, We believe Rex is a pointer/lab mix. Rex is good with kids and dogs he knows. Rex is quite anxious around dogs he doesn’t know and he will bark at them. However, once he meets them he is good! We are not sure about cats. Rex unfortunately hates apartment living. He has too much energy/anxiety to be a downtown dog. Unfortunately with mine and my boyfriend’s schedule we cannot give him the time he deserves. Rex would do better in a bigger home with a fenced in backyard. Rex is house trained, knows sit, shake/paw, lay down, roll over, and we have been working on spin. He is so eager to please and so food motivated. Rex has been working on crate training and is definitely improving. Rex is such a good boy and deserves to live in a home with the time and space for him.

Story

PLEASE NOTE! WE ARE A TEXAS BASED RESCUE. THIS DOG IS CURRENTLY IN TEXAS AND WILL BE TRANSPORTED TO YOUR STATE ONCE ADOPTED. Our app can be found at haydudeequine.org **Meet Huckleberry** Huckleberry is a super goofy, 7-month-old boy with a heart full of sunshine and a personality that can’t help but make you smile. At 30 pounds and still growing, this happy pup is expected to mature into a medium-sized dog—big enough to keep up with adventures, but still the perfect size for snuggles on the couch. From the moment you meet him, Huckleberry’s joyful energy is impossible to miss. He greets the world with a silly grin, a wagging tail, and pure enthusiasm for life. Water is one of his greatest loves—whether it’s a kiddie pool, a sprinkler, or just a splashy bath, he lights up at the chance to get wet and play. People are his other favorite thing. He adores human company and has a natural gift for making friends. He’s wonderful with kids, gentle and playful around other dogs, and even gets along great with horses. If you’re kind and ready for a loyal companion, Huckleberry is already halfway in love with you. His story has a bittersweet beginning. Huckleberry came from a litter of eight puppies, but a long, scorching Texas summer and the harsh reality of parasites took most of his brothers and sisters. He’s one of the lucky ones who made it through, and that resilience shows in the big, goofy heart he carries every day. He doesn’t dwell on the hard times—he just keeps choosing joy, play, and connection. If you’re looking for a water-loving, people-adoring, endlessly happy pup who will fill your home with laughter and loyalty, Huckleberry just might be the perfect match.

Dexter

Pointer

Male, 1 yr

Valley View, OH

Size

(when grown) Large 61-100 lbs (28-45 kg)

Details

Story

Meet Dexter, a Pointer mix who has come a long way since arriving as a very shy boy. With plenty of love, patience, and encouragement, Dexter is learning to trust the people around him, and his dog friends have played a big part in helping him come out of his shell. These days, he is the life of the party in our daily playgroup and gets along wonderfully with most of the dogs he meets! Dexter would thrive with a family who will continue to give him the time and patience he needs to build confidence and show his true personality. We recommend children ages 10 and up, and Dexter would do best in a cat-free home.

Story

My sister-in-law adopted Chaos a little over a year ago in Lakeland, FL. Unfortunately she passed away from cancer four months ago. My brother has moved here to Ohio, but can only have one dog at his apartment. We already have a dog and with health issues my husband and I are unable to take in another dog. It is sad because Chaos is a sweetheart.
