Hi, Im Rusty. Im a very good boy looking for a calm, quiet home away from the main road where I can settle in and feel safe. The world can feel a little overwhelming for me sometimes, and I do best with people who understand that building confidence takes time, patience, and consistency. Im looking for someone dog-savvy who can help me establish a steady routine and continue helping me work through some of my fears and frustrations in a way that helps me feel secure. One thing I do know? I really enjoy other dogs, especially calm, neutral friends who help me feel comfortable. I regularly attend daycare right now and do wonderfully with both the dogs and handlers there, which has been such a positive part of my routine. At this time, I do need only women in the home as I work through some fears surrounding men.If youre the kind of person who understands that trust is something built, not rushed, I think I could be a really wonderful companion! Sassy is the 14 year old chihuahua/terrier mix of your dreams. Her foster family is smitten with this granny who motors around like she owns the place. She has claimed a specific spot on the couch and she has learned the dog door despite being hard of sight. Sassy will steal your heart with her sassy personality, requests for cuddles and frequent tail wags. Weighing in around 25lbs, she gets along well with her foster siblings who give her the pick of whatever dog bed she chooses. Sassy has a clean bill of health, is fully vaccinated and heartworm negative. She has even had a full dental cleaning! She's ready to go home to live the best of her days with you! Due to old age, Sassy does have limited eyesight and will need someone who is understanding of this. She can fetch, find the dog door, move around her foster home great, and do all the dog things just like any other dog! HOWEVER, Sassy will need a single-story home as well as a doggy door to maintain her independence and thrive in a house We do not see Adopt-a-Pet inquiries!
