Currently fostered in Texas Approved adopters please send your hold requests to the email you were given. To get approved please visit our website www.texaschihuahuarescuecanada.org to fill in an application to adopt. Peewee is a shy and gentle boy. Apx 8 years old and 12 pounds. He takes a couple days to warm up with new people and places. Good with other dogs. He does not bite but he is hesitant to be picked up by strangers , and I would not necessarily put it past him to possibly fear your nip if somebody was not paying attention to his body language and went too fast or cornered him. No children please. Peewee is a gentle and quiet soul. Once he gets used to you, which does not take long, he is up in your lap and wanting to give you a little kiss kisses and he just wants somebody to love him. He is a very good boy. He just needs some confidence building and socializing . A quiet loving home would be best for him with no you g children or hyper dogs. He is a very relaxed dude but also gets the zoomies and does the little dances sometimes as well. He needs routine, stability and comfort. He is just not a fan of a lot of chaos or change. He is a very snuggly and loving boy once he settles in, he just needs someone to give him a chance. He gets a dental May 7th

Story
At 5–6 years old and just 16 pounds, Ellana is a Pomeranian-Chihuahua mix with a big personality in a tiny, fluffy body. A survivor of a house fire/hoarding situation and once on the euthanasia list, she’s been through more than most—but she’s come out the other side with her spark intact… and a healthy sense of knowing what she likes. Ellana is “perfectly imperfect.” With her adorable waddle, signature snaggle tooth, and cloud-soft coat, she turns heads everywhere she goes. She also has a small neurological mouth “tick” (like a fish out of water), which doesn’t bother her at all—it’s just part of her charm. She enjoys the company of other dogs and cats, but prefers a calm, orderly environment where she can play “hall monitor” and keep things from getting too rowdy. Ellana is looking for a quiet, adult-only home where she can feel safe and understood. She bonds deeply, but at her own pace—once you’re in her circle, you’re truly her person. She appreciates clear boundaries, doesn’t love being startled or picked up unexpectedly, and may give a little grumble to share her opinion. Don’t let her mild arthritis fool you—this girl still loves her walks and will happily dance at the sight of a leash.**she will easily take pain meds to help ease the pain, and they are given as needed** She enjoys affection in short bursts and will nudge you when she’s ready for love. She’s also food-motivated and knows “sit,” “lay down,” and “wait.” Ellana can be a bit of a “fear reactor” if rushed and has nipped when startled, so she needs an adopter committed to going slow and respecting her cues. With patience, she quickly relaxes and shows her sweet, loyal side. She isn’t difficult—she’s discerning. A little sass, a lot of heart, and so much love to give. Could you be her person? 🐾💖

Story
Currently fostered in Texas Daisy aka Daisy May Apx 2 years old and a long low 17 pounds. Chiweenie. Daisy is a bit of a nervous nelly but very sweet and loving. She is very scared of men and nervous in the car, she gets car sick, so she does not want to be a passenger princess. We can send her home with some Car sickness medicine to help with her transition. I do think in time and maybe some car rides to go get things like ice cream or pup cups she would do better in the car. When we first got her, she was very scared to walk on leash and harness, and it only took her a couple days to start to like walking with us in a familiar area. She just needs some confidence building and socializing. Daisy is never aggressive. She is just a bit of a scaredy-cat. Daisy is great with well mannered kids, cats and dogs. She has good potty manners here at the rescue and is not barky. We think it would be best that she is in a house instead of an apartment.
