Old Mrs. Figg is available through our `Adopt From a Foster Home` program. If you are interested in scheduling a meeting, please fill out the request form here: Adopt From Foster Form. Please do not make an appointment through our online booking calendar, as she is not available to meet on site.Old Mrs. Figg may not have any teeth left, but she still has plenty of love to give! Named after the quirky Harry Potter character, this sweet senior Pomeranian somehow found herself wandering as a stray in her golden years. Now, she`s hoping for her next chapter to be filled with love, cuddles and cozy napping spots!Mrs. Figg is quite fearful in the loud, unpredictable shelter, but she is quick to come out of her shell when she`s in a calm, quiet home. During her stays with staff, she proved herself to be house trained (only the occasional accident), laidback, and an excellent house guest! She has done very well in the company of other senior, low-energy dogs and may be able to coexist with a respectful cat. Young, loud children are probably a no-go, but Mrs. Figg could be okay with older, respectful kids who can watch her body language. She asks that you please do NOT pick her up as snuggles are meant to be shared on the ground where she is most comfortable. At her age, regular veterinary care will be important. She is suspected to have early kidney disease and her future adopters should be prepared for frequent vet visits and repeat bloodwork every 3-6 months to watch for progression of this chronic condition. This means that she may also require medication and/or a special diet in the future to keep her as happy and healthy as possible. After her mysterious history of adventures, all Mrs. Figg wants now is a quiet place to rest her paws and a family to love and cherish her for the rest of her life. Can that be with you? Old Mrs. Figg is:- unknown with kids, older may be better- unknown with cats, slow intros required- open to other senior or respectful, low-energy dogs pending intros- early signs of kidney disease, will need regular vet care and bloodwork

Meet Coco! This sensitive soul has had a lot of firsts since coming to Calgary Humane! It`s Coco`s first time on her own, and her first time being in such a big building with so many new people. Coco was initially apprehensive of us, but with each passing day her confidence is growing. Together we have celebrated her first time coming out of hiding for treats AND her first tail wags! We can`t wait to celebrate the most important first of all - first time meeting her forever family! Coco is still learning to enjoy being petted, so she will thrive with a patient family who can help her gain confidence and learn important doggy skills like walking on leash, house training, and the joys of couch cuddles! She has lived with dogs before and would likely do well with a confident and patient doggy friend!
