Story
MY HEART IS BROKEN! My mom recently passed away and left two super friendly, sweet and loving, fur babies. Little Lady (BONDED) is a Pomchi. She's pictured in the front. She weighs approximately 9-10 lbs. She is 11 years old. She is bonded with Little Dude (he's a Miniature Long Haired Chihuahua, 8 yrs.) He's pictured in the back. It breaks my heart that I can't keep them, but I have two dogs of my own and two cats. Unfortunately, I don't have the means, or the time to love them the way they deserve to be loved. I feel like it is detrimental that Lady and Dude stay together as they have been a pair since Dude was 5 months old...and their human is passed, so I am certain they are confused. Neither have had any health issues that I am aware of. I just took them to get all their annual shots. They are spayed and neutered. Potty trained. They are just awesome fur babies! Please feel free to message me with any questions you may have or if you would like to meet them.

Story
Sharkey! This guy is a very special pet! The name Sharkey is somewhat descriptive, as "Sharkey" can be a little bit "spicey". He will warm up to his person, and he will allow petting but will be a guy who needs to be handled with care. Sharkey has an unfortunate story of prior life, He was an "outdoor" dog, who came to rescue in poor shape. He had a skin condition that needed attention and was complicated by his matted fur. His dedicated foster mom took in Sharkey and got through his mats, gave him prescribed meds for his skin condition and got him on healthy foods to turn him around completely. He is happy to go outdoors, he eats a healthy diet and will sleep in an exercise pen or larger kennel. He will go in and out with a little direction, and a secure fenced area is a must. Sharkey is happy to go outdoors, but he's also VERY happy to come back in and settle on a soft bed or cushion. Sharkey will do well in a home where he is the only pet, or with one other calm and balanced pet. Sharkey's protective of his personal space. As long as there is an understanding of what is a comforting and welcoming environment for Sharkey, he will do well. Chihuahua Rescue is delighted to have taken in this pet and given him a chance of a loving forever home. We are confident he will be someone's EVERYTHING if given a chance. Sharkey is not recommended to be in a home with children and should go to an adopter experienced in handling a special needs pet. Please inquire about this pet in need and be prepared to have a most grateful companion!

Story
Bella is a 9 year old pomeranian. I have had her for her entire life. She is extremely territorial and aggressive with new people. Am experienced dog owner is required. We have an infant son and she does not do well around him. It has unfortunate caused so much tension in our home. We are needing to rehome to a forever home that will take the extra time with her and is kid free. Bella does not require any special diets or accommodations. Once she is used to her new owner she can be a very sweet dog. Please note that she has bitten in the past.

Story
Pom Lovers, Check This Out! This handsome young Pomeranian male was drifting around a rural area and could not be caught. He was finally trapped and taken to the local high-kill shelter. He was confused, terrified and totally unapproachable, so was at risk for euthanasia. Misty Eyes brought Drifter into our foster program, and he has become a friendly, affectionate, playful pup who is still frightened by the unknown. He's a larger Pom at 12.6 lb. and is estimated to be about 1 year old. Like many small breed dogs, Drifter can be spicy at times. Once he gets to know you, he's very loving and sweet, but he will snap/nip at new people who try to pick him up, or otherwise handle him. After proper introductions, he'll be your best buddy. He is living with other small dogs in his foster home and gets along just fine, although he'd really like to play a lot more than the old-timers he lives with. Drifter has obviously been someone's pet at one time. He does understand "go potty," and immediately goes to the door. He does not know sit, stay, down, etc., but he's a very quick learner. Drifter's left front paw is deformed, thought to be a birth defect. He's actually missing some digits and has a very large nail with a couple of other normal sized nails. He occasionally limps or skips on that foot, particularly on rough surfaces. Otherwise, it does not seem to bother him, and we have elected not to attempt any sort of surgery because it cannot really be repaired. Drifter doesn't let his misshapen paw slow him down...he can run and play with the best of them. Because he's reactive when frightened, he is not recommended for homes with children. Since he does have a luxurious Pom coat, he is rather high maintenance...a lot of brushing is required. If you'd like to meet Drifter, please submit an adoption application online at https://www.mistyeyes.org/adoptionapplication.
