Story
MEET GINGER! Breed: Pomeranian  Weight: 10 lbs  Date of Birth: February 3, 2023 This little diva is ready to trade her foster home for a furever throne! Ginger is a spirited, playful, and brilliantly sassy Pomeranian who’s basically a walking combo of charm, attitude, and fluff. At just 10 pounds, she’s got the heart (and the sass) to fill an entire castle. Let’s not sugarcoat it -Ginger is basically the canine version of an angry cat who’s mastered the art of selective affection. She’s not here to make friends with everyone on the block. Nope! She’s looking for an experienced human who understands that winning her trust *takes* time (treats and patience also help). Once she officially decides you’re worthy, prepare for all the snuggles and sweetness she’s been saving up just for you. Other dogs? Hard pass. Cats? She could care less about their inferior existence, but definitely more into finding her special person. This princess demands to be the *only* canine companion in the family and the center of your universe. Sorry, other dogs—Ginger doesn’t do sharing her throne. If you’re new to dog parenting or want a “friendly for everyone” pup, Ginger is NOT your girl. But if you’re an experienced adopter craving a charming little spitfire who’s loyal AF once bonded, you just struck gold. She’s smart, quick to learn, and actually pretty playful. Leash manners? Work in progress (hey, even royalty has quirks), but with patience and treats, she’s eager to please. A securely fenced yard is her royal playground because she’s not a fan of crates and definitely appreciates personal space (she’s got boundaries, okay?). This glam girl would thrive in a calm, adult-only castle. She tends to bond faster with women but gives everyone a fair chance… eventually. Apartment or condo? Nah—Ginger takes her "official alert system" job VERY seriously, so a place with some space and quiet vibes is best. And because every queen deserves to look her best, Ginger’s coat needs regular grooming. Luckily, she LOVES her spa days—brushes, baths, the whole royal treatment. Ready to invite a tiny tyrant with a heart of gold into your life? Ginger’s got personality, poise, and the perfect amount of attitude to keep your days interesting. Apply today and let this diva reign supreme in your heart (and your home)! Story
Midnight is a very sociable lovable dog. She loves alot of attention she is 4 years old. Very smart. We have a cat the same age they grew up together and interacted very well together. Midnight knows no stranger she will go right up to anyone and pick them and let them pet her. When other dogs come around she just barks but I no way aggressive. Really dont want to let her ho but our family is so busy we just can't devote the time to her she so deserves. Only request is that the family will send updates and pictures of how she is doing 🫶🏾

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet Squirt!  They don’t come much cuter than this guy! Squirt is a 10-year-old terrier mix, thought to be a Pomeranian/Cairn Terrier or Norwich Terrier mix.  He weighs 10 pounds, has a rather coarse long coat of fawn and white, and dark brown eyes that melt you.  Squirt came from a rural shelter.  We don’t know his history, but it is obvious he was someone’s pet at one time.  He is very comfortable in the foster home and made himself right at home.  Within a few minutes of arriving in his foster home, he made friends with the family dogs.  He is curious and friendly with people he meets.  He seems to like other dogs, but doesn't play with them. Squirt may be 10ish, but don’t let his age fool you.  Squirt has spunk and spirit, and enjoys all the things the younger pups do, including his daily walks, car rides, a little playtime, mealtime, and snuggling.  This little guy has been such a gentleman in his foster home.  He is house trained, crate trained, and very quiet.  He doesn’t ask for much – some good food, a warm place to lay his head, preferably on your favorite chair or on your bed, some playtime, and of course, pets and snuggles.  Squirt is UTD on vaccines, neutered and microchipped.  He had recent bloodwork and Urinalysis done.  His Heartworm test was negative, and his Urinalysis was negative.  His bloodwork shows some elevation in BUN/Creat Ratio and low Creatinine levels.  These results may be due to his age, lack of good food/malnutrition, possible kidney disease, or other age-related condition.   He has only a few teeth, so his tongue tends to hang out of the side of his mouth, but this gives him character!  He eats softened kibble and wet food without issue and laps up his food with gusto! Squirt does have occasional itchy skin and the vet suggested gentle baths 2x monthly and daily brushing to keep his coat clean.        Happy Days Dog and Cat Rescue microchips all dogs and cats before adoption. Microchips are implanted between the shoulder blades and are another form of identification should the animal get lost. The microchips are registered to    Happy Days Dog and Cat Rescue. The microchip is transferred to the adopter once the adoption is complete. Microchips are enrolled through AKC ReUnite.  The adopter pays a one-time fee for lifetime enrollment at the time of adoption.     Dogs and Cats still need to have collar with tags should they get lost. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 29, 2025, 6:26 am

We do our best to provide information that will help determine if the animal might be a good fit for you. Please note that behaviors may change in a home environment. We also ask our applicants to assume that any animal they adopt from us will need to be potty-trained and learn house manners, although this is not always the case. In most cases, the listed breeds are also a best guess. Our online animal bios are designed to provide as much information as possible and answer some anticipated questions. We do not have the resources to respond to emails with more specific questions. We are receiving an unusually high number of applications at this time! Applications are reviewed as they are received, but we do not select adopters on a first-come basis. Our job is to ensure each pet is placed into the best fit home for them and that adopters are paired with an animal that is a good fit for their lifestyle. All animals will stay online until they are “pending adoption”. Therefore, if an animal is still listed, we are still accepting applications for him/her! Please do not send inquiries about a specific animal's availability as this can change quickly over the course of the day. The fastest way to get a response is to simply submit an application! We will do our best to notify you by email if the pet(s) you are interested in are no longer available. New animals are posted daily, so please let us know if another furry friend peaks your interest (there is no need to fill out a second application)! It could take up to a couple of weeks for you to receive a final disposition on your application so there is no need to check on the status.-Introductions will be scheduled by appointment only, 30 minutes per appointment. The entire household, including current dogs, must be present for the appointment. (Note: Please do not bring your dogs if you are meeting cats!). The introductions will take place outside in our parking lot (or in our cat room if you're meeting cats).-We will perform vet checks for current and prior pets in the household.-Finalizing the adoption will also be scheduled by appointment.Thank you for your understanding.
