Story
Meet Tigger – A Brave Boy Looking for a Patient, Understanding Home ❤️ Tigger is a 6.5-year-old Husky/Pomeranian mix who is discovering what life is like beyond being used for breeding. Every day brings new experiences, new sights, and new lessons as he learns what many dogs take for granted. This sweet boy is still figuring out some things but he has mastered the stairs and LOVES going for walks with his dog buddies. He would also make a great running partner.  Tigger will thrive in a home that understands that slow and steady wins the race. He needs patient adopters who can provide routine, structure, and gentle guidance as he continues to come out of his shell. The progress he makes may be small at times, but every step forward is worth celebrating. Are you ready to open your heart and home to a dog who is just beginning his journey? Tigger is waiting for someone who will give him the time, understanding, and love he deserves. Watching him blossom into the dog he was always meant to be is truly something special. Could you be the one to help Tigger write his next chapter? ❤️We do not have a facility for you to visit. You are welcome to email ccrcdogs@ccrcdogs.com with specific questions, but please complete the online application, which can be found at www.ccrcdogs.com, to secure your position in line for one of our dogs. You can also find a description of our process on that same page. Puppies will not be available to be seen until their 10-day quarantine has passed. Our adoption fees are listed on our website and cover the cost of the spay/neuter, age-appropriate shots and tests, medications to bring the dog to full health, and a free visit with one of our approved vets after adoption. Most dogs at CCRC are obtained from animal control centers so there is often very little known about their history or current habits. You can always expect to do some training, regardless of whether you adopt a dog or a puppy, including crate training, house training, and basic manners. CCRC has a variety of materials and resources to assist you with this, and we have trainers who will offer free phone/email support. July 10, 2026, 10:03 am

Story
Meet Sushi!  Freshly groomed, full of personality, and guaranteed to steal your heart, Sushi is the perfect little bite-sized companion! This adorable 7-pound sweetheart is 4 years old and found herself in rescue after her owner could no longer care for her. When Sushi arrived, her coat was so severely matted and knotted that she had to be completely shaved down just to keep her comfortable and allow her to relieve herself properly. Thankfully, those days are behind her, and she's feeling like a brand-new little lady. Sushi is as sweet as they come and absolutely loves meeting new people. She has never met a stranger and is always happy to make a new friend. She has done well with other dogs that understand she's a tiny girl and will respectfully share her space. She has also been around cats without showing any concerns. Because of her petite size, Sushi would do best with older, dog-savvy children who understand how to gently interact with such a small companion. Like many little dogs, Sushi has a playful side and enjoys tossing around her toys and entertaining herself. She also has the cutest tiny bark that she proudly uses whenever she's excited, and it's impossible not to smile when you hear it. In her previous home, Sushi used both potty pads and went outside to potty. Since coming into foster care, she has been learning to rely more on a consistent outdoor routine and continues to make great progress. She is not much of a leash walker and has very little concept of recall, so a securely fenced physical yard will be required to keep her safe. Because of this, she is not a candidate for an invisible fence or tether. Sushi has a low-grade luxating patella in her right rear leg. There is no need for medical intervention and it certainly doesn't slow her down one bit. She happily runs, plays, and enjoys life just like any other little dog. Sushi is looking for a family that will cherish her for the rest of her life—a family that understands tiny dogs deserve big love, cozy laps, soft beds, regular grooming, and plenty of adventures. If you're searching for a happy, affectionate little companion with an adorable personality and enough charm to fill an entire house, Sushi is ready to roll right into your heart and stay there furever.  Sushi is:Current on Bordetella, Distemper, and RabiesDewormedHeartworm Tested: NegativeReceiving Heartworm and Flea PreventionMicrochippedSpayedADOPTION FEE: $400 IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN THIS PET, PLEASE COMPLETE THE APPROPRIATE APPLICATION FOUND ON OUR WEBSITE HTTP://FUREVERTAILS.COM. Unfortunately, at this time we are not currently adopting outside of the state of MI. We process applications ONLY - there is no guarantee that you will get a response to an inquiry. Many of the animals in our foster program come to us with limited or unknown histories. We make every effort to evaluate each animal’s temperament and behavior, including testing their interactions with other dogs, cats, and children (defined as individuals under the age of 18, when available). However, every animal is unique—just as every child and household environment is different. While we strive to set both our foster animals and adoptive families up for success through thorough assessments and transparent communication, **we cannot guarantee any specific behavioral outcome**. Animals can be unpredictable by nature, and behavior may change in new environments or over time. By proceeding with adoption or foster placement, applicants acknowledge and accept this inherent risk and agree that no guarantees, either expressed or implied, are made regarding the temperament or behavior of any animal placed through our program. FUREVER TAILS IS A NON-PROFIT, NO-KILL, FOSTER HOME BASED ANIMAL RESCUE BASED OUT OF OAKLAND TOWNSHIP, MI. OUR FOSTER ANIMALS ARE LIVING IN FOSTER HOMES AND TREATED LIKE FAMILY UNTIL THEY FIND THEIR OWN FUREVER FAMILIES. OUR ADOPTION PROECESS REQUIRES AN APPLICATION TO BE COMPLETED AND APPROVED BEFORE A MEET-N-GREET WITH THE ANIMAL CAN TAKE PLACE. ADOPTION FEES ARE NECESSARY TO HELP US COVER VETTING COSTS FOR OUR RESCUED ANIMALS. ##2781531##

Story
MEET GINGER! Breed: Pomeranian  Weight: 10 lbs  Date of Birth: February 3, 2023 This little diva is ready to trade her foster home for a furever throne! Ginger is a spirited, playful, and brilliantly sassy Pomeranian who’s basically a walking combo of charm, attitude, and fluff. At just 10 pounds, she’s got the heart (and the sass) to fill an entire castle. Let’s not sugarcoat it -Ginger is basically the canine version of an angry cat who’s mastered the art of selective affection. She’s not here to make friends with everyone on the block. Nope! She’s looking for one experienced human who understands that winning her trust *takes* time (treats and patience also help). Once she officially decides you’re worthy, prepare for all the snuggles and sweetness she’s been saving up just for you. She has learned over time that canine siblings can be fun and add more excitement to her day. While she enjoys romping around with dog friends, she can also get jealous with sharing her attention, so she will need a human that can provide structure when it comes to snuggle time so everyone gets their fair share or preferrably a home where she can be the one and only canine. Cats? She could care less about their inferior existence, but definitely more into finding her special person. If you’re new to dog parenting or want a “friendly for everyone” pup, Ginger is NOT your girl. But if you’re an experienced adopter craving a charming little spitfire who’s loyal AF once bonded, you just struck gold. She’s smart, quick to learn, and actually pretty playful. Leash manners? Work in progress (hey, even royalty has quirks), but with patience and treats, she’s eager to please. A securely fenced yard is her royal playground because she’s not a fan of crates and definitely appreciates personal space (she’s got boundaries, okay?). This glam girl would thrive in a calm, adult-only castle. She tends to bond faster with women but gives everyone a fair chance… eventually. Apartment or condo? Nah—Ginger takes her "official alert system" job VERY seriously, so a place with some space and quiet vibes is best. And because every queen deserves to look her best, Ginger’s coat needs regular brushing. Luckily, she LOVES her spa days—brushes, baths, the whole royal treatment. Ready to invite a tiny tyrant with a heart of gold into your life? Ginger’s got personality, poise, and the perfect amount of attitude to keep your days interesting. Apply today and let this diva reign supreme in your heart (and your home)! He is incredibly loving, playful, and deeply attached to his people. He loves his home environment and is very friendly and sweet with his family.Adventure Buddy: He absolutely loves to travel by car.Naturally Shy at First: Hazel has been the only pet in our household. He needs time to feel safe around new dogs or children. Once comfortable, he becomes playful and friendly.Training & Environment Needs: When out on walks, Hazel gets a bit vocal and will bark at passing dogs and people. He needs a dedicated owner who is willing to help him with leash training.
