We got Lizzie from someone who rescued her off the side of the road. She was severely malnourished. We live on 25 acres and she has been great, along with our other dogs, at deterring predators and pests (coyotes, armadillos, moles, etc.). But she goes after livestock birds and cats like a wolf. I can not train her out of it. I was willing to be patient as we lost chickens on occasion but she got into our neighbor's ducks. I cannot afford to fence 25 acres and she is not happy being tied to a running lead while our other dogs have the run of the place. I think she could be content in a yard or even in a home. She is generally very receptive to training but just has a high prey instinct that I cannot overcome. Unless she is hunting prey, she comes very consistently when called. Since she has been tied up she has developed a habit of jumping up on me but is never aggressive with people. She has never nipped at or even growled at a person. She is such a sweet dog. I wish we could keep her

Story
Caddie is a super sweet 5 year old girl. We adopted her about a year ago and tried to make her a good fit for our home. Unfortunately it just didn’t work out. We have two cats that she gets along with well. She is also one of the sweetest dogs you’ll ever meet and loves all people. She loves to cuddle up on the couch or in bed with you. She loves going on walks. Caddie can be dog aggressive so she needs extra caution when walking near other dogs. Even if they are in someone’s back yard she will react to them. We do have another dog in the house that she plays well with, however most other dogs she’s encountered she has not been friendly with. This is a big issue for us. She is also a bit of an escape artist and we have not been able to keep her contained and happy. I am hoping to find a home that does not have any other dogs and also has a larger yard that she might be happier in.
