⚡🐺 MEET REMUS ⚡🐺
If you've read Harry Potter, you know Remus Lupin was the responsible one. The voice of reason. The guy constantly asking, "Have we considered NOT making terrible decisions today?" Well, our Remus appears to have taken that role very seriously. Remus is calm, gentle, affectionate, and exceptionally well-mannered. He's the kind of dog who walks into a room and immediately wins over everyone he meets without even trying. He's easy-going without being lazy, confident without being pushy, and affectionate without becoming a full-time stage-five clinger. (Although he would happily accept a generous amount of ear scratches, belly rubs, and compliments about what a handsome gentleman he is.) Honestly, if the Marauders had possessed even half of Remus's common sense, they probably would have avoided about 87% of their problems. Whether you're looking for a walking buddy, a couch companion, or simply a four-legged best friend who makes life a little sweeter, Remus is ready to apply for the position. And unlike his wizard counterpart, this Remus comes with significantly less werewolf-related paperwork.

Remus is a 5-year-old, 36-pound Pomsky who recently found himself sitting in a shelter kennel, which honestly feels a bit like finding a winning lottery ticket in the couch cushions and then just... leaving it there. Considering how absolutely wonderful this dog is, someone really dropped the ball. Their loss is about to become someone else's incredible gain. Now, before you start imagining a Pomsky with the energy level of a caffeinated squirrel who just discovered espresso shots, allow us to introduce the exception to the rule. Much like his namesake, Remus Lupin, this boy is the calm, sensible one in the group. He's gentle, affectionate, exceptionally well-mannered, and has the kind of easy-going personality that makes you wonder if he's secretly been taking classes on How to Be the Perfect Companion. At 36 pounds, he's also the perfect size—not too big, not too small, just enough dog to snuggle with on the couch without requiring structural modifications to your furniture. The more time you spend with Remus, the more confusing it becomes that he ever ended up in a shelter in the first place. He's the kind of dog people spend months searching for and years bragging about after they adopt him.
If Remus attended Hogwarts, he'd probably be voted "Most Likely to Get Along With Literally Everyone." Dogs? Loves them. He gets along beautifully with dogs of all sizes and has the rare ability to make introductions look effortless. He's calm, respectful, and happy to make new canine friends. Cats? Apparently Remus missed the memo that he's supposed to care. While many dogs see cats and immediately launch into a full-scale investigation, Remus treats them like background characters in a movie. They exist. He acknowledges that. Then he moves on with his day. As for people, Remus has apparently never met a stranger. New humans are simply friends he hasn't had the chance to charm yet. He's only been around teenagers in his foster home, but given how gentle, patient, and well-mannered he is, we suspect he'd do wonderfully with kids of all ages. He has the kind of temperament parents dream about and the kind of patience that deserves some sort of award. Basically, if your family currently includes dogs, cats, kids, adults, teenagers, neighbors, delivery drivers, or random people who occasionally exist in public, Remus is likely to greet them all with the same attitude: "Hello. I am Remus. I have decided we can be friends."
If you're looking for a dog who treats every day like an extreme sports competition, Remus would respectfully like to refer you elsewhere. This boy scores a solid 2/10 on the energy scale, which means his ideal day consists of existing peacefully, looking handsome, accepting affection, and avoiding unnecessary cardio whenever possible. Remus is the definition of "go with the flow." He's happy to accompany you on outings and absolutely shines in public, but he's equally content spending the day at home supervising household activities from a comfortable location. On leash, Remus is what we in the rescue world call a unicorn. He walks like a perfect gentleman. Just a calm, polite companion strolling along beside you like he's been practicing for the Westminster Dog Show. As for car rides, Remus is happy to load himself into vehicles that aren't approximately the height of a castle wall. Once inside, he behaves like the distinguished gentleman he is instead of treating the car like a mobile bounce house. Toys? Meh. Fetch? Hard pass. Water? Jury's still out. Remus has apparently reached a level of enlightenment where he understands that happiness does not require chasing tennis balls. While other dogs are sprinting after toys and launching themselves into ponds, Remus is busy enjoying the finer things in life. Like just chilling. That is it. That is the list. At the end of the day, Remus is everything people hope for when they imagine the perfect companion: calm, gentle, affectionate, confident, exceptionally well-mannered, and so easy to live with that you'll find yourself wondering if he's secretly reading the adoption applications and tailoring his personality accordingly.
At this point, we're beginning to suspect Remus may actually be a retired wizard disguised as a Pomsky. Because the more we learn about him, the less he sounds like an actual dog. Need a dog for an apartment? Remus says, "Certainly." Need a dog that gets regular leash walks? "Sounds lovely." Need a dog that is happy to content with a house and fenced yard? "Absolutely". Basically, Remus adapts to his surroundings better than most humans. Potty Trained? Yeperdoodles. Kennel experience? Only for short periods, but honestly, given how trustworthy he is, he hasn't needed it. Barking? Not Really. However... Every morning while waiting for breakfast, Remus performs what can only be described as a tiny, polite, emotionally moving wolf song. Just the softest little howl that basically translates to: "Good morning. I hate to be a burden, but I did notice breakfast appears to be approximately 37 seconds behind schedule."
So if you're ready to adopt the canine equivalent of a warm cup of coffee, your favorite sweatshirt, and that one friend who always has their life together, Remus is ready to meet you.

A few things to know:
⚡ Remus is being fostered in Skiatook, Oklahoma, and that's where he'll need to be picked up. He has absolutely no interest in booking his own flight, driving himself home, or apparating directly into your living room.
⚡ Out-of-state adopters are welcome, but you'll need to travel to pick him up. Remus supports road trips. He does not support cargo shipping.
