Every once in a while, a dog comes along who makes you believe in second chances. Astra is one of those dogs. She is Housebroken, crate trained, spayed, microchipped and up to date on vaccines.
At almost 7 years old, Astra has lived enough life to know what really matters: love, connection, and someone to throw the ball... again and again. Astra is a German Shepherd/Husky mix is great with people, loves kids and did great when tested with a dog savvy cat. She will need slow intros with other dogs. Astra can be prone to resource guarding with other dogs, but this can be controlled with an informed adopter and feeding the dogs separately. Astra carries the grace of her breeds and the warmth of a heart that just wants to belong. Weighing in at 75 lbs, she's big enough to wrap her paws around you — and gentle enough to win over your heart without even trying.
Astra knows all the basics: “sit,” “stay,” “paw,” “down,” and “come.” But beyond her obedience is her spirit — a joyful, playful soul who lights up when a ball is in sight. Her favorite game? Fetch! Tennis balls are the joy of her life!
Astras favorite activities are going on walks, playing fetch in the yard, belly rubs and curling up after a long day.
