Story
Meet Peanut, a six-month-old Husky mix weighing 41 pounds.Peanut is a sweet, gentle boy with the most adorable little underbite you’ve ever seen — it gives him a permanently charming smile that’s impossible to resist! He was owner-surrendered to animal control alongside Leah (who is also available for adoption). The two get along well, but they do not have to be adopted together and can happily go to separate loving homes.Peanut is wonderfully well-mannered for his age and has a calm, easygoing personality. He absolutely loves affection and will happily soak up all the pets and attention you’re willing to give. He’s the kind of dog who leans into you for love and makes you feel instantly special. One of his pleasant surprises? He’s surprisingly good on leash! Story
Meet Gaston, a four-year-old Siberian Husky/Alaskan Malamute mix weighing 61 pounds.Gaston is a charming guy with the most striking mismatched eyes — one look at him and it’s impossible not to smile! He came to us with extremely painful ear infections, but after treatment, he’s feeling so much better and ready to show off his sweet, playful personality. This friendly boy loves squeaky toys, playtime, and going on walks to explore the world around him. He has that curious, energetic spark often seen in Huskies, and while he’s compact and well-mannered, he also enjoys staying active and engaging with his people. Gaston has a bright, outgoing spirit and will thrive in a home that can give him mental stimulation, fun adventures, and lots of love.Whether he’s chasing a toy, sniffing out new scents on a walk, or just hanging out with his favorite humans, Gaston is sure to bring laughter, loyalty, and joy into your life. Story
Meet Kurt, a five year old Husky/Malamute mix.Kurt is a big, beautiful boy with a heart that’s just starting to open up. It seems like he’s spent much of his life on the streets, fending for himself and figuring things out the hard way. Because of that, everything is new to him – from the comfort of a soft bed to the feel of a leash.Despite his rough past, Kurt is showing us he wants to connect. He’s the kind of dog who leans into you once he starts to feel safe – a sign of trust that’s truly special. He responds well to kindness, loves treats, and is looking for a person who will treat him with respect and patience. In return, he’ll offer quiet loyalty and a bond that runs deep.Kurt isn’t ready for a loud or busy home, so no young kids at this time, and a calm environment would suit him best. He’ll need some time to adjust, but for the right person, he’s going to be an incredible companion. This pet is available for adoption on 9/18/2025 at 1:52 PM at the Yakima Humane Society adoption center.
