Meet Rogue, a four year old Husky mix weighing 51 pounds.Rogue is the kind of dog who seems to wake up every morning convinced it`s going to be the best day ever. This handsome boy has stunning ice-blue eyes, a goofy personality, and enough enthusiasm to keep a smile on your face all day long.Playful and outgoing, Rogue loves making friends wherever he goes. He gets along well with other dogs and enjoys romping, wrestling, and showing off his impressive zoomies. He also did well with his finder`s small children, proving that his fun-loving personality extends to people of all ages.Rogue is a smart boy, too! He already knows `sit` and `down,` and because he`s highly treat motivated, he`s eager to keep learning. Story
Meet Spila (pronounced `Speelyi`, meaning Coyote), a five-year-old Husky/German Shepherd mix weighing 51 pounds.Spila is a smart, playful girl who`s ready to find a home where she can finally relax, feel safe, and truly be herself. She was brought to the shelter by Animal Control, and while we don`t know much about her past, it`s clear that the kennel environment has been stressful and confusing for her. Inside the shelter, Spila can seem unsure and overwhelmed—but take her outside, and you get to meet a completely different dog. Her playful, affectionate personality comes shining through, and you can see the wonderful companion she`s capable of becoming.Spila is a clever girl who already knows several commands, including `sit,` `sit pretty,` and `shake`! She is very treat motivated, enjoys learning, and loves squeaky toys. She is also kennel trained and responds well to `kennel up.` She`s a quick learner and would thrive with a family that enjoys continuing her training and keeping her mind engaged.Spila has plenty of personality, including her silly side—her nickname is Silly-Billy for a reason! She loves to have fun and will keep you entertained with her goofy antics. She`s also a natural mouser, so if you have a small critter problem, Spila may be happy to help take care of it!When it comes to walks, Spila does fairly well on a leash, though she can be a little stubborn with people she doesn`t know yet. Once she trusts you, she is happy to look to you for guidance and build that special bond. You may notice a mysterious scar on Spila`s side—a reminder that she has lived a life before coming to the shelter. We don`t know how she got it, but it doesn`t define her. Spila is ready to leave her past behind and focus on the happy future she deserves.Spila would do best in a home without young children where she can settle in at her own pace. She may also prefer a home without other large, dominant dogs. If there are other dogs in the home, a meet-and-greet will help determine if everyone is a good match.Spila is looking for a patient, committed family who will give her the time, consistency, and love she needs to feel secure. In return, you`ll gain a loyal, intelligent, funny companion who will reward your trust with endless affection and a lifetime of love.Could Spila be the silly, smart best friend you`ve been searching for? This pet is available for adoption on 7/4/2026 10:56 AM

She enjoys spending time with her people, loves treats, and has a charming talkative side that makes her even more endearing. Whether she`s quietly relaxing at home or accompanying you on an outing, Leilei is happy to be part of the action. One of Leilei`s favorite activities is going for walks, and she walks nicely on a leash, making her a wonderful companion for daily strolls. Story
Meet Polar, a two-year-old Siberian Husky mix weighing around 50 pounds.Polar is a striking young dog with beautiful ice-blue eyes. He was brought in as a stray and is still figuring out the world around him, so he can seem a little unsure at first. However, every day he’s showing more confidence and starting to warm up as he learns he’s safe.On leash, Polar enjoys taking his time to explore. He’s very much a “follow his nose” kind of guy, taking in all the scents and sights at his own pace. He’s not in a rush—he’s observant, curious, and steadily building trust with the people around him. He has met another dog while with us and seems to prefer other dogs that are low-key. He tells off dogs with too much puppy energy because he just wants to chill so he would be also fine as an only dog if that is what you want. Based on his appearance and temperament, Polar likely has Siberian Husky traits. Siberian Huskies are intelligent, independent, and energetic working dogs originally bred to pull sleds over long distances in harsh Arctic conditions. They are known for their endurance, strong prey drive, and love of exploration. Huskies are often social and friendly, but can be a bit aloof or independent-minded, especially in new environments. They tend to thrive with patient handling, consistent structure, and plenty of physical and mental stimulation.Polar is still adjusting, but with time, patience, and gentle guidance, he’s likely to continue blossoming into a confident and engaging companion. He’s looking for someone who understands his independent spirit and is ready to help him grow at his own pace. This pet is available for adoption on 4/19/2026 at 5:19 PM at the Yakima Humane Society adoption center. Story
Meet Sequoia, a nine-month-old Malamute/German Shepherd mix weighing 60 pounds. Sequoia`s story hasn`t been an easy one. She came to us after being seized by Animal Control along with six other dogs. When she arrived, she had a large gash on her inner thigh that has since healed beautifully, but the emotional healing is still a work in progress. It`s clear Sequoia hasn`t had much exposure to the world. Walks on a leash, new people, new places, and everyday experiences are all unfamiliar to her. She`s a little flighty and unsure, but underneath that uncertainty is a truly sweet, gentle dog who wants to trust.Sequoia is friendly and has never been anything but kind—she just doesn`t know what to expect yet. She isn`t leash trained and will need a patient adopter who understands that building confidence takes time. Every small victory is a big step for her. With love, consistency, and gentle socialization, we believe Sequoia will continue to blossom into the wonderful companion she`s meant to be. If you have a calm home and the patience to let her learn at her own pace, you`ll have the privilege of watching this deserving girl discover that the world can be a safe and happy place.Could you be the one to give Sequoia the fresh start she deserves? This pet is available for adoption on 7/2/2026 2:03 PM at the Yakima Humane Society adoption center. Story
Meet Magnolia, a nine-month-old Alaskan Malamute/German Shepherd mix weighing 65 pounds.Magnolia came to us after being seized by Animal Control along with six other dogs. Having spent her entire life indoors with very little socialization, everything she once knew has been turned upside down.Through it all, Magnolia has shown us what a wonderful dog she truly is. She`s absolutely stunning, with the classic German Shepherd personality to match—people-oriented, eager to please, and happiest when she`s with her humans. She forms connections easily and is looking for someone to guide her as she discovers how big the world really is.Magnolia is active, friendly, and has a fantastic demeanor. She`s still learning the basics, including leash walking, and will need continued training, plenty of TLC, and the patience to build her confidence. She`s a sensitive soul who responds best to gentle encouragement and positive reinforcement. With love, consistency, and a family willing to help her grow, Magnolia has all the makings of an incredible companion. She`s ready to leave her difficult past behind and find the forever home she deserves.Could Magnolia be the loyal best friend you`ve been waiting for? This pet is available for adoption on 7/2/2026 2:03 PM at the Yakima Humane Society adoption center. Story
Meet Forrest, an eight-month-old Alaskan Malamute/German Shepherd mix weighing 70 pounds.Forrest is a big, sweet, dorky boy who is just starting to discover what life is all about. He came to us after being seized by Animal Control along with six other dogs, and it’s clear that everything outside of his previous indoor world is brand new and a little overwhelming for him right now.Despite his uncertainty, Forrest has a very gentle, loving nature. He is still very much a baby at heart—big in size, but soft and unsure in spirit. He soaks up attention when he feels safe and finds comfort in kind voices, calm handling, and patient companionship.New situations can be scary for Forrest, and he is still learning about the leash, which can feel confusing to him. He will need a patient, understanding adopter who can go at his pace and help him build confidence step by step. Every small success will be a big milestone for this sensitive boy.Forrest is looking for a calm, supportive home where he can learn that the world is not such a scary place. With time, reassurance, and gentle guidance, he has all the potential to grow into a deeply loyal and loving companion. If you have the heart to help a nervous boy find his footing, Forrest is ready to learn the way with you. This pet is available for adoption on 6.23.26 at the Yakima Humane Society adoption center.
