Story
Updated Bio! **Meet Bohdi!** Bohdi is a 9-year-old Pug weighing 24.5 pounds with a goofy personality and an even bigger love of snacks. Whether it's breakfast, a favorite treat, or spending time with his people, Bohdi approaches life with enthusiasm and a happy spirit. Bohdi is a calm, affectionate companion who loves being around people. He does great with children and would make a wonderful family dog. He is also fantastic with other dogs and truly enjoys canine companionship, making him an excellent addition to a home with resident dogs. His excitement is contagious when it's time for attention, and his sweet, easygoing nature makes him a joy to have around. One of Bohdi's favorite things in the world is food! He is highly food motivated, making treats a great way to continue training, build a strong bond, and keep his mind engaged. While in NMDR's care, Bohdi completed heartworm treatment and may benefit from follow-up care with his adopter's veterinarian. He also has a few ongoing medical needs. Bohdi has chronic ear disease that will require routine monitoring and care, as well as pigmentary keratitis, an eye condition common in Pugs that requires continued management. He will need to return to the NMDR clinic in September for an eye recheck. Bohdi is looking for a loving home that will embrace both his playful spirit and his senior status while supporting his ongoing medical care. A required in-person meet and greet at our shelter is part of the adoption process to help ensure a good fit for Bohdi and his potential adopters. If you're looking for a loyal companion with a silly streak, a loving heart, and plenty of personality, Bohdi is ready to spend his golden years by your side. ------ Many NMDR dogs have had limited prior socialization and may need time, patience, and support as they adjust to home life. Skills such as house training, leash walking, and handling may require continued practice. Progress will vary by individual dog. Homes with older children are often a good fit, depending on temperament. To learn more about NMDR and our adoption process, please visit our website.

Story
Charlotte is a sweet, spunky little girl with a happy personality and plenty of puppy charm! She loves being around both people and other dogs and is happiest when she gets to be part of the action. Charlotte has a wonderful, easygoing demeanor and is surprisingly content to relax in her pen. When it's time for a nap, she'll happily head into her crate and settle down. She's also slept through the night and is making progress with her potty training. When she's ready to play, Charlotte's playful side comes out! She loves racing around outside with the bigger dogs, chasing after them and enjoying every minute of the fun. She's also a fan of balls, bones, and stuffies, so she'll have plenty of ways to keep herself entertained. Sweet, playful, spunky, and wonderfully social, Charlotte is a little girl with a big personality who is ready to find her forever family! They were rescued from a high kill shelter in Texas. Meet and greets are by appointment only.  An approved application is required to schedule a meeting. Check out our events page for upcoming open adoption events! We have no additional back story or update for this dog at this time.  When we do, it will be updated here.  This is all the information we have currently. Approved Applicants may make the adoption fee payment by clicking donate above.  Partial adoption fees will not hold a dog. If upon meeting the dog of your choosing at your scheduled pickup time you find that you aren't a good match, your deposit will be fully refunded. Adoption fees include vaccines up until time of adoption, microchip, spay/neuter and 1st 30 days of free pet insurance.  We are not affiliated with MetLife pet insurance. (you have to sign up for the insurance or it will not go into effect).  Adoption fees help cover the medical care of the animals while he or she waits for a new home, as well as food and transportation costs. These fees help to provide care for the other animals in the shelter or rescue group who may have medical bills that are much higher than any possible adoption fee. The money also acts as a donation to help support the organization as a whole, allowing the group to continue its efforts to rescue and rehome pets. The dogs in our care are fostered in Colorado, Texas, and New Mexico.  While all dogs are picked up during our scheduled times, sometimes transport dates change due to unforeseen circumstances.   More questions?  Read our FAQs here: https://4p4l.org/faqs/  Breed labels are a "best guess" by a shelter veterinarian and cannot be guaranteed.  ##2802038##

Story
Angel is a 7-year-old German Shepherd/Pug mix weighing 37 pounds. She is a sweet and affectionate girl who loves spending time with her people. Angel is always looking for attention and happily soaks up all the love she can get. One of her favorite ways to show affection is by giving plenty of face kisses and staying close to the people she trusts. Angel walks nicely on a leash and enjoys spending time outdoors with her favorite humans. She forms strong bonds with the people she trusts and thrives in a home where she can be a cherished companion. Angel would do best as the only pet in the home for now, as she prefers having her family's attention all to herself. Her loyal and loving nature makes her a wonderful companion for someone looking for a devoted best friend. Angel is currently heartworm positive and is undergoing treatment. She will need to return to NMDR for her scheduled care, and adopters must be committed to strictly following the treatment plan as outlined by NMDR veterinarians to ensure her full recovery. With her affectionate personality, gentle nature, and endless supply of kisses, Angel is ready to find a loving home where she can be the center of someone's world. ------ Before being rescued, many of our dogs had limited socialization, so they may need some time to adjust to life as a family pet. Older kids are often a great fit for our dogs, and homes with younger children will be considered based on each dog’s individual needs. Skills like house training and leash walking may take a little extra patience and practice. However, with understanding and a gentle hand, most of these dogs adapt quite quickly. Being a part of their rehabilitation is a truly rewarding experience. To learn more about mill dogs and start the adoption process, visit our website!
