Story
Meet Auggie Auggie is seeking a local, adult only home with a fenced yard and a similarly sized playmate! Auggie is an adorable 6.5 yr old, 15 lb Pug/Chihuahua mix who was picked up a stray and never reclaimed. He was highly stressed in the shelter and we didn’t hesitate to pull him when his time was up. Auggie is a sweet silly boy, a definite lap dog and does expect full furniture privileges. He loves toys! He enjoys going for walks and rides in the car. Auggie loves to play with other similar sized energetic dogs but is intimidated by bigger dogs. He is looking for a home with another small dog and will not be placed in a home with big dogs! . Older dogs may not appreciate his enthusiasm. He does okay with a dog savvy cat but for cats not used to dogs he would not be a good fit. Auggie is a resource guarder and because of this he will not be placed in a home with children. He has super sensitive hearing and will protect you from the UPS truck so apartment living is not in his future! Auggie is crate trained and housetrained. He is neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, HW tested negative and on prevention. He does need to lose a couple pounds. Auggie has been in foster care for quite some time now and we really dont know why - we know the perfect home is out there somewhere! LOCAL INQUIRIES ONLY PLEASE

Story
A SWEET & LOVING GIRL:  Approx. 6 years old / Approx. 40 lbs. & needs to lose weight Hi, my name is Yvette!  I came to Mostly Mutts from animal control along with another doggie friend.  I think I can speak for both us when I say we are grateful to now be part of the MM family!  I’m enjoying spreading all the love around to the volunteers at the shelter, and I am now ready to bring lots of joy to my new home!  Let’s meet and see if we are the perfect match for a life of love and fun!  You’ll notice, I’ve been fed too much in the past, so I’m on the green bean diet and would like my family to help me shed some weight.  • OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS: I recently met other dogs at Mostly Mutts, and – though just a little shy and shut down at the time we met – I did fine.  I showed some possible toy guarding in a temp. foster home when one of the dogs came near the gate that separated us, but I was also new to the home, so please ask the MM trainers about that.  I DID come in with another dog that I liked, so if you have a nice doggie at home, let’s meet and see if we can be pals! / A 16-year-old cat walked by me in a temp. foster home and I was not fazed.  All cats are different, so I’m not sure how I would be with another cat. / I haven’t met kids yet at Mostly Mutts, so let’s meet and best no toddlers that I may bump over. • PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL:  I’m a super sweet girl who can be a bit shy initially, but my calm and loving nature begins to emerge once I know you are my friend.  I’ve done best on my walks when the volunteers take a moment to sit down with me and talk calmly to me.  It seems to build my confidence for the walk, and then I do well on my leash.  I was relaxed and calm during my bath – seeming to look at it as a big adventure.  My sweet face and cute underbite will bring a smile to your face – every time. / Energy level:  4-6.   • SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY:  I'm in the Mostly Mutts University training program and have already mastered the ‘come’ and ‘drop it’ commands, and I look forward to learning more.  Let's continue my training together with the free lifetime training classes that Mostly Mutts offers for all their adopted dogs. / My crate manners are good at Mostly Mutts and in a temp. foster home. / My potty habits have been very good on the shelter schedule and in a temp. foster home, so hopefully that will be the case in my new home, too.    • LIKES/DISLIKES:  I’m all about the love once I know we are buddies.  Your calm words of encouragement will help me continue to grow my confidence, so let’s hang out together and have some nice ‘conversations’ – with some cuddles and kisses thrown in. / I can’t think of any dislikes, though like all dogs, I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, exercise, and training. • MEDICAL:  I'm current on annual vaccinations, micro-chipped and spayed.  I’m taking a good over-the-counter Cosequin tablet as I have a mild luxating patella in my right rear knee – grade 2.  I have moderate tartar on my teeth, so my adoptive family should consult with their vet and consider a dental cleaning in the future. I am looking for a family to give me loving, furever home for life!  My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.  April 7, 2026, 10:38 am

Story
A SWEET & FUN FELLOW:  Approx. 1 year old / Approx. 30 lbs.  Hello – I’m Scamp!  I came to Mostly Mutts from animal control with a cherry eye that needed repair and thankfully that’s been done for me.  You may notice that in some of my pics, pre-surgery, but I’m good to go now!  I’ll just need medicated eye drops several times a day until the 1st or 2nd week in April.  I can’t wait to meet my new family and start the good life that awaits me!   • OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS:  I recently met other dogs at Mostly Mutts, and though I wasn’t ready to play yet, I also didn’t show any aggression.  Also, I came in with another dog, so if you have a dog at home already, let’s meet. / Cats unknown. / I haven’t met kids yet at Mostly Mutts, so let’s meet and best no toddlers that I may bump over.  • PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL:  I am a very sweet and playful guy with a super cute underbite.  For one so young, I have a fairly calm and gentle demeanor – so easy to love!  I came to Mostly Mutts quite nervous, but the volunteers went to work making me feel safe and loved by using calm, quiet energy with me and taking their time.  I’m feeling more confident and sprinting around the play yard like I own it now!  A delightful little fellow, I am sure to steal your heart! / Energy level:  4-6. • SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY:  I'm in the Mostly Mutts University training program and have already mastered the ‘stay’ and ‘come’ commands, and I look forward to learning more.  Let's continue my training together with the free lifetime training classes that Mostly Mutts offers for all their adopted dogs. / My crate manners are good at Mostly Mutts. / I've been having accidents on the shelter schedule, so please continue to be consistent with me on a good schedule, so I can master my potty skills. • LIKES/DISLIKES:  I enjoy stretching my legs and running around with the volunteers in the play yard.  Walks with the volunteers are great, too, and I can show off my pretty good leash manners.  At mealtimes, I enjoy a little water on my kibble, please.  I’m sure we’ll discover lots of other things we like doing together once I’m in my new home. / I can’t think of any dislikes, though like all dogs, I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, exercise, and training. • MEDICAL:  I'm current on annual vaccinations, micro-chipped and neutered. I was uncomfortable with restraint during my vetting, so a muzzle can be used during that time.  Due to my cherry eye surgery, I’ll need medicated eye drops several times a day until the 1st or 2nd week of April and these can be done in my new home – just ask about this.  I am looking for a wonderful home with a loving family for life!  My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.  April 7, 2026, 10:38 am

Story
Meet Minnie, a 2-year-old Pug mix weighing 27 pounds with the cutest little underbite and a beautiful white chest and collar that gives her a “queenly” look. She’s as sweet as she is adorable and fully believes she’s here to love you… and collect a few treats along the way. Minnie is a happy, playful girl with a medium to high energy level. She loves playing with her foster dog siblings and enjoys toys, especially antlers and squeaky toys. She’ll chase a ball here and there, but she’d much rather engage with her people or other dogs than nap the day away. She’s very alert and will pop up quickly if she hears something new, making her both entertaining and a great little watchdog. She is house trained, though she has had a few recent accidents that may be related to medication she’s currently on while recovering from heartworm treatment. Minnie is crate trained with a little encouragement, especially if a treat is involved, and she settles in nicely once inside. When left alone, she does well resting in her crate for 4 to 8 hours. Minnie is great with tweens and teens and would do well in a home with or without kids. She gets along well with other dogs, especially those in the 30 to 60 pound range, and enjoys having playmates. Cats and other animals are unknown at this time. She’s a smart girl who already knows sit and shake and is currently working on “come here,” “lay down,” and “get in your box.” On leash, Minnie is still learning and can be a bit of a zig-zagger who pulls, but with consistency and a little patience, she’ll continue to improve. She is very food motivated, which makes training easier and fun. Car rides can make Minnie a little nervous, though she has already started improving. For longer trips, she may benefit from some calming support, but she’s making great progress and gaining confidence. Minnie’s ideal home is simply one that will love her. She’s affectionate, playful, and full of personality. When you look into her eyes, she seems to say, “I’m a cutie patootie, here to give you love and kisses,” and she truly means it. If you’re looking for a sweet, fun-loving companion who will keep you smiling and shower you with affection, Minnie may be your perfect match. You can apply directly for Minnie by clicking the Apply for Adoption button on the linked page. https://www.shelterluv.com/embed/animal/FODS-A-799 All our dogs come with 30 days of free post-adoption support through Petcademy.org.
