Story
Jester here! I’m full of energy and want to run and play. Is there a playmate in your home for me? I was adopted a year ago from the ABQ City Shelter. I’m told that the man who adopted me worked long hours and didn’t have time for me. After almost a year with him, I went to a different home for about a week and now here I am in foster care. I’m working really hard to get this potty business handled outside; but sometimes it gets confusing. I am 4 years old and have a bit of a stocky build weighing 10.5#. They say that I am a Pug Chi. I like running zoomies and being able to go in and out of the house as I choose. I sleep through the night and enjoy my food. I’m having fun running with the other foster dogs here so I think I’d like a home with another dog or two that are about my size so we could all play together. Do you have a home like that for me?

Story
Nix is getting her first taste of home life, and she's making quiet, steady progress every day. After surviving in a hoarding case dog pack and then spending a year in the shelter, she's naturally cautious around people and unfamiliar situations. She's currently thriving in a foster home with a professional trainer and a balanced pack of dogs, where she's learning that humans can be safe and predictable. Nix is an easy roommate in many ways: Quiet she doesn't bark. Crate trained and absolutely loves her crate (she'll even hop right into it for car rides). Walks nicely on a leash. Great with cats, she ignores them and doesn't chase. Coexists beautifully with other dogs. Very food motivated, which makes training fun and rewarding. What Nix needs most is a patient person who enjoys building trust. She can be nervous around people and may slip quickly through doorways or tight spaces, so she'll need a secure yard and someone mindful of management while her confidence grows. She can be picked up and petted, though she isn't seeking affection just yet, but she does seek connection in her own way, quietly keeping an eye on her person wherever they go. Nix would do best in an adult home with a secure yard and someone who finds joy in watching a shy dog blossom. The bond you build with her won't happen overnight, but it will be one you've earned. If you are interested in Nix or have some questions about her, please call or text her foster mom Kelly at (406) 600-9422.

Story
When Taz got to her foster home, she was a wild child. She didn't know the enjoyment of being touched or taken for walks. But she has discovered the luxuries of pet life and is now enjoying pets, going for walks, riding in the car, and having a nice soft place to sleep. She also loves her doggie friends, wagging her tail and wiggling when she greets them. Taz is a great companion in many ways: Crate- and house-trained. Walks nicely on a leash. Likes to snuggle on the couch. Loves to fetch her ball. Rides in the car nicely. Gets along with other dogs and would love a friend her size. What Taz needs is a patient person who enjoys building trust. Taz will need guidance in a new location to learn her new routine. Taz seeks connection in her own way, quietly keeping an eye on her person wherever they go, and does enjoy affection, which she continues to like more over time. She knows her name and should learn these in a new location with a little effort and some cheese. Taz would do best in an adult home with a secure yard and someone who finds joy in watching a shy dog blossom. The bond you build with her won't happen overnight, but it will be one you've earned. Taz underwent surgery in late March to move her kneecaps back where they should be. The results of the surgery are miraculous. Taz now has straight legs and can play bow, stretch, and walk like a normal dog. The vet staff commented on how well Taz tolerated her handling during the procedure. Taz is fully recovered and rejoices daily by running and jumping around the yard. If you're interested in meeting Taz, come to our adoption event on the 1st and 3rd Saturday of each month from 11am-2pm, located at 6300 San Mateo NE in the south Sprouts parking lot. Alternatively, we can arrange a Private Meet-and-Greet with the foster parent and your household with a completed application. Complete an easy, no-obligation online application and take the first step towards welcoming Taz into your home by clicking on this link https://form.jotform.com/222028369049155 The $250 adoption fee covers all vaccines, spay/neuter, microchip, and heartworm/tick-borne illness testing.

Story
Rosarita is our saucy mamacita! At 27lbs, Rosarita is our medium sized beauty with the goofiest grin! She has the softest brindle coat, and a lot of love to give. She is pretty friendly to everyone she meets! Rosarita loves to be on the move, and really enjoys going on walks and playing with her favorite squeaky toys! And since she`s shaped like a pinto bean, it goes without saying that Rosarita LOVES to snack! Rosarita loves being the center of attention, so she has requested to us that her forever home be one where she`s the only baby, so that means no young children or other pets. And she is known to be a door-darter, so she needs her home to have a secure front door and backyard! She is such a sweet little lovebug, and we cannot wait to find the right `Forever Casita` for Rosarita! Rosarita is at our Main Ranch location!Watermelon Mountain Ranch(Across from Cleveland High School)3251 Westphalia Blvd. NE Rio Rancho, NM 87144(505) 221-2359Wed-Sun 11am-4pm (adoptions and tours until 3pm)
