Story
When Taz got to her foster home, she was a wild child. She didn't know the enjoyment of being touched or taken for walks. But she has discovered the luxuries of pet life and is now enjoying pets, going for walks, riding in the car, and having a nice soft place to sleep. She also loves her doggie friends, wagging her tail and wiggling when she greets them. Taz is a great companion in many ways: Crate- and house-trained. Walks nicely on a leash. Likes to snuggle on the couch. Loves to fetch her ball. Rides in the car nicely. Gets along with other dogs and would love a friend her size. What Taz needs is a patient person who enjoys building trust. Taz will need guidance in a new location to learn her new routine. Taz seeks connection in her own way, quietly keeping an eye on her person wherever they go, and does enjoy affection, which she continues to like more over time. She knows her name and should learn these in a new location with a little effort and some cheese. Taz would do best in an adult home with a secure yard and someone who finds joy in watching a shy dog blossom. The bond you build with her won't happen overnight, but it will be one you've earned. Taz underwent surgery in late March to move her kneecaps back where they should be. The results of the surgery are miraculous. Taz now has straight legs and can play bow, stretch, and walk like a normal dog. The vet staff commented on how well Taz tolerated her handling during the procedure. Taz is fully recovered and rejoices daily by running and jumping around the yard. If you're interested in meeting Taz, come to our adoption event on the 1st and 3rd Saturday of each month from 11am-2pm, located at 6300 San Mateo NE in the south Sprouts parking lot. Alternatively, we can arrange a Private Meet-and-Greet with the foster parent and your household with a completed application.
