Story
Juni is a friendly, affectionate young dog who is looking for a family of her own. She enjoys spending time with people, making new friends, and playing with other dogs. Juni would do well in a home with another dog, as she enjoys canine companionship and benefits from positive social interactions. Juni is crate trained, potty trained, and knows the command "sit." She is currently working on additional obedience skills, including "lay down," leash manners, and learning to keep all four paws on the ground when greeting people. She is eager to learn and responds well to consistent training and positive reinforcement. Because Juni is such a social and enthusiastic dog, she can sometimes become overly excited during play and interactions with other dogs. She is still learning appropriate social cues and may occasionally need guidance and redirection when her excitement level gets too high. She has made tremendous progress and continues to improve with structure, patience, and consistency. Juni came to rescue through a cruelty case and has overcome many challenges since entering foster care. While she has made incredible progress and has blossomed into a happy, loving dog, there are times when she can still become fearful or uncertain. Occasionally, she may need encouragement to come out of her crate or reassurance when going outside, particularly if something startles her or disrupts her routine. During these moments, she benefits from a calm, patient handler who understands that healing is not always a straight line. In public, Juni is outgoing and enjoys meeting new people, often assuming everyone she meets is a friend. At home, she can initially be a bit more cautious when unfamiliar visitors enter her space, but she warms up quickly once properly introduced. Juni loves lounging in the sunshine, spending time with her people, and being part of daily activities. She is looking for a family that will continue her training, provide appropriate exercise and enrichment, and most importantly, understand her background and be committed to helping her continue building confidence. If you're looking for a resilient, loving companion who has already come so far and is ready to keep growing with the right family, Juni may be the perfect addition to your home.

Story
Roscoe is a gentle, sweet senior soul who loves the finer things in life: soft couches, long naps, and endless belly rubs. He is a man of few words and a pretty quiet guy, but his love for his humans speaks volumes. Roscoe relies on his outgoing best friend, Benji, to lead the way and show him the ropes. Because they are a package deal, you get double the love! If you are looking for a loyal, low-key companion to binge-watch your favorite shows with, Roscoe (and Benji!) cannot wait to meet you.

Story
Sweet summertime Shandy! With a smile as wide as the PA Grand Canyon, this gal is packing a big personality in a tiny package. Over the past year, we've already had the pleasure of knowing and adopting out Shandy's mom (Stormi), dad (Gauge) and two siblings (Jack and Sally). Being close to perfect must run in the family, because Shandy is just a wonderful little brindle meatball! She's a pug/pittie mix and just turned a year old on June 13. Shandy is friendly, happy, social, and full of playful energy. While she loves to play hard, she loves to snuggle even harder! She adores people and is good with kids, other dogs, and likes to playfully chase cats. She's really enjoyed making dog friends here, like Brenna (surprise, surprise!). She's spayed, microchipped, up to date on vaccines and is housetrained. *** Apply to adopt your new best friend at www.secondchanceas.org/adopt or at the sanctuary any time we're open. Call 570-376-3646 or email secondchanceas@yahoo.com with any questions. PA kennel license #04944
