Story
Meet Chatita (also lovingly called Cha Cha by her foster family) — a 3-year-old, 11-lb female pug mix with a big heart and a serious love for comfort Her name, Chatita, means "little flat-faced one" or "sweetie" in Spanish, often used affectionately for dogs like pugs due to their smushed features and small stature. Originally from Tijuana, Mexico, Chatita has adjusted beautifully to NYC life and is ready to find her forever home.
Chatita has chronic dry eye, which is easily managed by daily eye drops. She is blind in her left eye, but it does not affect her daily life & her ability to navigate; she has completely adapted to it.
Chatita’s perfect day includes cozy couch snuggles, leisurely walks, and a fun game of fetch. She’s a loving, cuddly, and delightfully silly little pup who prefers to stay close to her people — if you’re home, she’d much rather be in the same room with you
She’s currently working on her obedience training and improving every day. Chatita is a pro with pee-pads. Walks outside are very exciting for her, and she’s still polishing her leash skills and learning to stay curb-side. With patience and consistency, she will soon become a pro outdoors as well!
At night, Chatita does well sleeping in her crate, but don’t be surprised if she gives you a look that says, “Wouldn’t it be nicer if we were all together?” During the day, you’ll often find her curled up with her favorite stuffed football, supervising household activity from the comfort of the couch.
Chatita is looking for a low-key family who appreciates a balance of downtime and light activity. She’s perfectly content watching a bit of chaos unfold around her — as long as she can do so comfortably from her couch throne. She does well on her own, with other dogs, and would be fine in a home with children. Chatita has not been cat tested.
Her forever family will need to continue reinforcing the great progress she’s already made. In return, they’ll gain a loyal, affectionate companion who thrives on love and togetherness
Vaccinated for rabies, DHPP, and bordetella, heartworm negative, microchipped and spayed. Current on flea, tick, and heartworm prevention.
