Story
Meet Chatita (also lovingly called Cha Cha by her foster family) — a 3-year-old, 11-lb female pug mix with a big heart and a serious love for comfort Her name, Chatita, means "little flat-faced one" or "sweetie" in Spanish, often used affectionately for dogs like pugs due to their smushed features and small stature. Originally from Tijuana, Mexico, Chatita has adjusted beautifully to NYC life and is ready to find her forever home. Chatita has chronic dry eye, which is easily managed by daily eye drops. She is blind in her left eye, but it does not affect her daily life & her ability to navigate; she has completely adapted to it. Chatita’s perfect day includes cozy couch snuggles, leisurely walks, and a fun game of fetch. She’s a loving, cuddly, and delightfully silly little pup who prefers to stay close to her people — if you’re home, she’d much rather be in the same room with you She’s currently working on her obedience training and improving every day. Chatita is a pro with pee-pads. Walks outside are very exciting for her, and she’s still polishing her leash skills and learning to stay curb-side. With patience and consistency, she will soon become a pro outdoors as well! At night, Chatita does well sleeping in her crate, but don’t be surprised if she gives you a look that says, “Wouldn’t it be nicer if we were all together?” During the day, you’ll often find her curled up with her favorite stuffed football, supervising household activity from the comfort of the couch. Chatita is looking for a low-key family who appreciates a balance of downtime and light activity. She’s perfectly content watching a bit of chaos unfold around her — as long as she can do so comfortably from her couch throne. She does well on her own, with other dogs, and would be fine in a home with children. Chatita has not been cat tested. Her forever family will need to continue reinforcing the great progress she’s already made. In return, they’ll gain a loyal, affectionate companion who thrives on love and togetherness Vaccinated for rabies, DHPP, and bordetella, heartworm negative, microchipped and spayed. Current on flea, tick, and heartworm prevention. To apply for Chatita, visit our website (www.waggytailrescue.org) for an adoption application. It is important to fill out an application as soon as possible for consideration, and we require a complete application for you to meet an animal. We are currently unable to respond to general email inquiries as an all-volunteer run rescue. If the dog is on our website, they are still available. Waggytail Rescue CANNOT guarantee the exact age of any adoptable dog, or final size of any of our adoptable puppies. We rely on the information provided to us by veterinarians, shelters, owner surrenders and other circumstances bringing the dog into our rescue. Adoptions: adopt@waggytailrescue.org ##2615519##

Story
Hi Northeastern people! I am a handsome little Pug/Chihuahua mix named Capone. I am about 2 years old, weigh only 10 lbs, and I was found as a stray in Gonzales, Texas. I was a very lucky boy when it turned out the Animal Shelter was so full that they reached out to 4 Little Paws Rescue instead, and I am now living it up in a foster home while getting ready to find a forever home. I’ve been vaccinated, microchipped, and neutered, and I’m looking forward to meeting you! I am a happy, friendly little guy with a medium energy level, and it's easy to see I love life! I’m sweet and social, and great with everyone, easily making friends, even with strangers! I enjoy running and playing with all my little dog buddies, and as the “activities director,” I like to ensure we are all having fun. I love being involved and am always curious about what everyone is doing. I’m not really into dog toys, but I am into love and affection, pets and snuggles, and just being close to you. I’m not a fan of being kept in a crate, but I will tolerate it. I am well-behaved, no digging or chewing, I don't guard my food, I’m working on housebreaking, good on a walk, don't mind a car ride, and loud noises don't scare me. I hear many wonderful people in the Northeast would love to have a sweet little guy like me, so inquire about me today! * 4 Little Paws is based in CT. We adopt in many different states along the East Coast. Transport costs are included in the adoption fee. If you are located outside the states we typically adopt to, we have options to get the dog of your dreams to your location.

Story
Buster is a 2-year-old mixed pug breed weighing about 24 pounds, and he is exactly what you hope for in a “good boy”: funny, playful, and endlessly charming. He has that classic pug-mix personality—part comedian, part cuddle buddy, all heart. Buster loves to play and has a knack for making people laugh, whether it’s with his goofy expressions, happy wiggles, or enthusiastic zoomies. He’s playful without being over-the-top and knows how to settle in when it’s time to relax. At two years old, he’s past the puppy chaos but still has plenty of fun-loving energy. He’s a friendly, social guy who enjoys being around his people and being part of the action. His manageable size makes him a great fit for many living situations, and his upbeat personality makes him the kind of dog that quickly becomes everyone’s favorite. If you’re looking for a compact, happy companion who brings humor, affection, and good vibes into your home, Buster is ready to show you just how good a boy he really is. Buster will arrive in Albion, NY in mid January and we would love to have a family waiting for him! * Please note: All dogs are rescues so we often do not know the actual breeds but use an educated guess to tell you what they most look like. Our adoption fee is $400 and unless otherwise stated all dogs and puppies have been spayed/neutered, microchipped, 4DX tested(if age appropriate), Put on heartworm/flea/tick prevention, age appropriately vaccinated, dewormed, vet checked and flown from Puerto Rico. Story
Basement Babies - Coal Did you know that November 1st is a holiday? It is because it is my birthday and we will need to celebrate it every year!! I am one of 5 puppies who were born under a house to a little 13 pound chihuahua looking mama dog. It wasn’t really in a basement but it was a shelter from the cold and wind. Anyhow, mom was a wild child so we came to the rescue to learn to love people and have a home so we don’t have to walk on the wild side. Some of us look like perhaps mom or even dad had some pug in them, as we have some of the coloring or the shorter mugs of a pug. But all of us are 100% adorable! I am the largest pup of the litter and the one who is a beautiful caramel color. I am very sweet and love to chase my siblings up and down the hallway to the room where our buddy, Busy Boots hangs out. She is great to play with and loves us puppies very much! I will be on the small side, depending on what genetic size my rambler dad brought, but I should be under 15-20 pounds fully grown. I get my baby making bits removed on January 5, 2026 and then will be able to go to my forever home. Will that be with you? Anyhow, I won’t last long as I am adorable, if I do say so myself! Local Adoption fee in Texas is $350 Out of state adoption fee with transport and fuel surcharge is $600
