Meet Fig, a 1.5 year old 13 lb Chihuahua Pug mix with a huge love for playtime! His foster mom describes him in three words: Loving. Energetic. Curious. Fig absolutely loves other dogs and truly shines in play. Wrestling, chasing, running, and zooming around with dog friends are some of his favorite things in the world. He’s also a big toy lover and is always ready for a game. He absolutely needs another dog in the home, to help him get out all his zoomies and thrive! When playtime is over, Fig is all about snuggles and naps with his people. He loves being close, enjoys belly rubs, and happily relaxes indoors. He can be a little nervous around cars and loud city noises on walks, but he gets braver every day with routine and reassurance. Another dog also really helps with building his confidence. Cassanova, a nine-year-old male, just arrived and is still getting settled in, so we’re just beginning to learn who they are. Right now, everything is new—new people, new sounds, new routines—and we’re giving them time to relax, decompress, and show us their true personality at their own pace. Since Cassanova is a recent arrival, we don’t have much background information or many personality notes yet, but we’ll be updating their profile as we get to know them better. Brooke is a cutie pie who is a very sweet little girl too! She's a 2-3 year old Pug mix who weighs just 26 pounds although we think she could easily gain another 5-10 pounds. We don't know much about her past but she's living with a great Foster Mom in Freeport, Long Island who she's a love-bug who is very easy to live with. They go out for lovely walks and she went to the Nautical Mile to experience the Spring sunshine and fresh air....she absolutely loved it! She was a little shy when she first came into her Foster's home but warmed up quickly and now loves playing and snoozing! She has a medium energy level and loves to play and explore. She gets along great with other dogs and everyone she meets including kiddos. We'll be testing her with kitties soon too. She's very smart and is working hard on her leash skills. She's healthy, up to date on all her vaccinations, house-trained and crate-trained so she's totally ready to find her forever home. We think she'd do best in a suburban setting with a fully fenced yard so she can play to her hearts desire. To understand me, you need to know a little about my background. Somewhere along the line I ended up in a shelter in Texas with my three pups. a few days ago somebody took my three kids away and sent the four of us to Buffalo. It was a long trip and very scary. When we go to Buffalo after a 30-hour trip I met my foster mom. She seemed nice but I had gone through so much I was quite scared. I quickly learned that my foster mom was kind and she had other dogs at her house which has made me feel much more comfortable! I know how to go outside to go potty. I love treats and I LOVE to snuggle!!! I get along with other dogs. In my foster home, I’ve found that my little foster dog brother I feel most comfortable with but the bigger one is growing on me.
