Story
Loki & Freya are a cute pair of Chihuahua/Pug mixes who were surrendered by their family on October 2nd because they could no longer take care of their beloved pets. Loki is 8-1/2 years old and has a cream-colored short smooth coat with beige/tan shading, a long curled tail, and a precious face with characteristic features of the Chihuahua/Pug breeds. Loki has expressive brown eyes, a black button nose, a tiny muzzle, and short floppy ears. Loki weighs 18 lbs and has already been neutered. Freya (fka Penny) is 7-1/2 years old and has a brown-and-tan short smooth coat, a long curled tail, and an adorable face with big brown eyes, black shading on her short muzzle, a dusting of white on her chin, and short floppy ears. Freya weighs 17+ lbs and is pleasingly plump. She has already been spayed. Loki and Freya are up-to-date on vaccinations and were very much loved by their family. They enjoyed a good life and were spoiled/loved by them .. Loki is reported to be afraid of storms while Freya is said to be territorial. Loki & Freya may look familiar to some of our HSOV volunteers and facebook followers since they were adopted from HSOV in May 2024 and would love to find another home together. Thanks to HSOV Kennel Techs Haley Mcclain and Lauryn Hamilton for accompanying Loki & Freya for these updated outdoor photos on the afternoon of October 4th 2026. Loki & Freya were very happy when Haley and Lauryn showered them with loving attention (and for rewarding them with 'good boy/good girl' treats for posing for their glamour pictures

Story
Jack is a handsome 12-year old male Bulldog who was surrendered by his owner on August 2, 2023 because he/she was unable to contain him. Jack has a tan-and-white short smooth coat, a tiny docked tail, and an adorable symmetrically-marked face with black shading around his eyes, a black button nose on his cute muzzle, and short floppy ears. His owner told us that Jack is good with other dogs, but it is unknown how he feels about children and cats. Jack has been kept indoors and is house-trained. This sweet guy defies his chronological age and he obviously believes that 'age is just a number' .. Jack was full of playful energy when HSOV Humane Officer Fredley Tynan accompanied him for outdoor photos on August 2nd, and he loved running laps around Fredley to show off his personality and physique. Jack weighs 58.4 lbs and is fairly strong on a leash. Jack has already been neutered, so he could leave our shelter immediately with an approved HSOV adoption application. UPDATE: We've learned that Jack does NOT do well with cats and should not be placed in a home with cats or where he would have any contact with them. Jack has had encounters in the past which did not end well for the cat(s). Jack is now a 14-year old 'senior citizen'. Jack would love to find a home with someone special where he could spend his golden years as an 'only child'. Jack went home with a foster family on August 16, 2025 so that he could enjoy a real home environment instead of spending his days/nights alone in a small shelter kennel. Jack is still available for adoption and would love to find a forever home where he could spend his golden years being spoiled 24/7 by a special someone.
