Mabel is a 5.5-year-old Pug/Bulldog mix who is currently seeking a permanent home. She joined our organization after being rescued from a puppy mill, where she spent her entire life confined in a loft within a barn. Unfortunately, she was never afforded the opportunity to engage in the typical activities that family dogs usually enjoy. Despite her challenging beginnings, Mabel has shown remarkable progress. Mabel requires a unique and understanding home that is willing to address her fears and facilitate her journey toward building confidence. She is presently receiving medication for anxiety, which is a direct result of her difficult early experiences. Mabel underwent surgery for a luxating patella in her left rear leg, and her condition has significantly improved. She exhibits compatibility with cats and tends to be submissive toward other dogs. Mabel would thrive in an environment that includes a calm and confident canine companion. It is also essential for her new home to have someone present most of the time, as she exhibits some signs of separation anxiety. Additionally, a household without children under the age of 16 would be ideal, as active young children may cause her to become fearful. Mabel is well-behaved during car rides and rarely barks. Her house training is still a work in progress, but with patience and consistency, improvement can be expected.   Mabel has been spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, Heartworm tested, and additionally, she has been on monthly preventatives. Her adoption fee is $750.00, which includes her health records!   If you think you can provide Mabel the safe, quiet home that she deserves,  Please complete our adoption application at this link   https://www.animalert.ca/apply/dog-adoption If you wish to learn more about Animalert, please visit our website at     https://www.animalert.ca/ Due to the volume of emails, phone calls and messages Animalert receives, it is not always possible to respond to every application. ***NOT ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS YET******COMING SOON***Hi, I’m Peggy! I’m an 8-year-old girl with plenty of energy and love to give. I’m house trained, great with kids and dogs, and I absolutely love to play. I’m also a total cuddle bug and love being my person’s little shadow, whether that means curling up beside you in bed, snuggling under a blanket, or finding the comfiest dog bed in the house. I’m sweet, playful, and happiest when I’m with my people. My foster family was told I’m good with cats, although I haven’t met any in my foster home yet. I’ll be looking for my forever family soon and can’t wait to meet you!*Located in Orangeville

Story
If you don’t want a dog that worships you like the god/goddess you are, who needs to know what you’re doing, all the time, no matter where you are (including the bathroom), who thinks every time you walk in the kitchen it’s snack time, and that the best place to be is always the same place you are, then you may want to check out some of the other amazing dogs available for adoption on the website because pugs are not your jam!Brothers Rocky and Frankie are pugs, through and through! These 9-year-old boys are always ready for an adventure on the lake, at the park, in the woods 🌳 or happy to hang out on your lap and watch your favourite movie with you 🍿 FYI, they are pros at spotting a dog or any other critter on tv and aren’t shy to let you know🦙! They also seem to have a fondness for baseball ⚾️They love all people, young 👶🏼 or old 👵🏻, and happily greet and socialize with other social dogs. They will bark on leash when they see other dogs but are easy to redirect if there isn’t an opportunity to meet and say hi.They also love to chase anything that will run 🐿️ but found out pretty quickly that my chickens don’t run… they flap their really big wings at them and stand their ground! We haven’t had the opportunity to meet any cats but judging by their interactions with the chickens, they would be appropriate with a dog-savvy feline family member 🐈‍⬛.Rocky (or Rockstar as he’s known in this household) is the “older”, in character only, more serious of the two. Though if you know pugs, there really isn’t a lot of seriousness happening, at any time! He does seem to have some food related allergies and is currently eating a biologically-appropriate, balanced, raw diet of turkey and veggies, avoiding any carbs and starches, and is doing very well on this. He does not do well on pork, we have yet to introduce other proteins. Frankie, aka Francesco, is the sillier, more carefree of the two. He loves chasing squeaky balls 🎾, playing with squeaky toys and is the more athletic of the two. He’ll often run with my lab-mix on our forest walks, jump over big logs and can easily jump on and off the furniture. Rocky requires stairs or assistance to get on and off the couch and bed. Frankie also eats a biologically-appropriate, balanced, raw diet and is fine with any and all proteins he’s been introduced to.After breakfast and dinner, Rocky will routinely groom Frankie’s ears and at bedtime, Frankie returns the favour. They will often seek each other out if they happen to find themselves separated, sleeping snuggled up or just hanging out together. The boys currently sleep 💤 in an exercise pen beside our bed, after we have some bedtime snuggles, but would be more than happy to snuggle with you all night! If you’re looking for two very lovely, well-mannered and sweet boys to fill your life with love, laughter and dedicated companionship, consider this your lucky day! These adorable brothers are that and more ❤️You can learn more about foster boys Rocky & Frankie and follow their adventures on my IG account, https://www.instagram.com/juju_zr/*located in Sharon**Bonded with Frank**fee for both $800
