Mabel is a 5.5-year-old Pug/Bulldog mix who is currently seeking a permanent home. She joined our organization after being rescued from a puppy mill, where she spent her entire life confined in a loft within a barn. Unfortunately, she was never afforded the opportunity to engage in the typical activities that family dogs usually enjoy. Despite her challenging beginnings, Mabel has shown remarkable progress. Mabel requires a unique and understanding home that is willing to address her fears and facilitate her journey toward building confidence. She is presently receiving medication for anxiety, which is a direct result of her difficult early experiences. Mabel underwent surgery for a luxating patella in her left rear leg, and her condition has significantly improved. She exhibits compatibility with cats and tends to be submissive toward other dogs. Mabel would thrive in an environment that includes a calm and confident canine companion. It is also essential for her new home to have someone present most of the time, as she exhibits some signs of separation anxiety. Additionally, a household without children under the age of 16 would be ideal, as active young children may cause her to become fearful. Mabel is well-behaved during car rides and rarely barks. Her house training is still a work in progress, but with patience and consistency, improvement can be expected. Mabel has been spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, Heartworm tested, and additionally, she has been on monthly preventatives. Her adoption fee is $750.00, which includes her health records!
