Story
Please contact Adoptions (adoptions@thalppc.com) for more information about this pet. Zyla is simply the cutest!!! This 1 year old girl is a Pit Bull and Pug mix (at least that is our best guess) and she weighs 36 pounds. Zyla was rescued from our friends at SCRATCH while they were working on a local TNR project. She lived in a small pen with 3 other large dogs and had a litter of 9 puppies. Sadly, only 1 puppy survived but was fortunately taken home by one of the rescuers and has already been adopted. Because of Zyla's past environement, she is shy and startles easy, but is already doing great with our lobby dogs AJ, Nakoa, and Skyy. She blends right in and follows their lead when greeting new people. She is really sweet and it makes us so happy to see her confidence grow every day. She has even started laying at the feet of our front desk employee Janet wherever she goes. Here is what Zyla has to say about herself: I'm Zyla, and I had a rough start to life. For this reason, I'm shy around new people, but hanging around with other dogs in the lobby at Pet Placement Center has taught me a lot of things--most importantly, that cheese is the best food ever! I've also learned that a gentle paw on the arm elicits pets 100% of the time (possibly because I have the best puppy dog eyes in town). I recently spent some time in a foster home and made huge progress: I learned how to walk on a leash, figured out some of the weird sounds a house makes, and realized how much I enjoy sleeping in a big bed where I get cuddles from a human all night. I'll need patience and practice to continue acclimating to a home environment and get comfortable meeting new people, going on car rides, and walking on a leash. But once I've figured out you're my friend, it doesn't take long to win my love!   The adoption fee is $135 which includes a free veterinary exam within 2 weeks of adoption at local participating vets, up to date vaccinations, test for heartworms & heartworm preventative medication, dewormer, flea preventative, microchip, & spay or neuter. We're open Wednesday - Sunday 12 - 5 p.m but doing adoptions and meet & greets by appointment only.  If you are seriously interested in adopting please fill our our online application here: https://bit.ly/3HN4Tqq Check out our website at https://www.petplacementcenter.com/    September 13, 2026, 12:10 am

Story
Meet Leonard, a handsome 4-year-old, 93-pound English Bulldog with a lovable face and an even bigger heart! Leonard is a big sweetheart who becomes incredibly affectionate once he gets to know and trust you. He may bark when first meeting someone new, but give him a little time and you’ll soon discover a loyal companion who loves being close to his people. Leonard enjoys playing with a ball, taking walks, and running around the yard. He has plenty of energy and thrives on attention and interaction with his family. Around the house, Leonard likes to follow his people from room to room and will happily settle down and sleep nearby. He loves affection and being part of whatever his family is doing. Leonard gets along well with other dogs and would enjoy having a canine companion. Cats, however, are another story—Leonard likes to chase them, so a cat-free home would be best. Because Leonard is a big, energetic boy who may accidentally knock someone over, he would do best in a home without small children or elderly family members who could be unsteady on their feet. His ideal family will have the time and energy to give him the exercise, attention, and companionship he needs. Leonard is potty trained, loves bath time, and is a great car rider. He was originally found abandoned on the side of the road, frightened and shaking, but quickly learned how wonderful life in a loving home can be. Leonard is neutered, microchipped, fully vetted, heartworm negative, and on preventatives. He is currently being fostered in Hillsboro, Oregon, and is ready to find a forever family of his own!
