Story
Please contact Adoptions (adoptions@thalppc.com) for more information about this pet. Zyla is simply the cutest!!! This 1 year old girl is a Pit Bull and Pug mix (at least that is our best guess) and she weighs 36 pounds. Zyla was rescued from our friends at SCRATCH while they were working on a local TNR project. She lived in a small pen with 3 other large dogs and had a litter of 9 puppies. Sadly, only 1 puppy survived but was fortunately taken home by one of the rescuers and has already been adopted. Because of Zyla's past environement, she is shy and startles easy, but is already doing great with our lobby dogs AJ, Nakoa, and Skyy. She blends right in and follows their lead when greeting new people. She is really sweet and it makes us so happy to see her confidence grow every day. She has even started laying at the feet of our front desk employee Janet wherever she goes. Here is what Zyla has to say about herself: I'm Zyla, and I had a rough start to life. For this reason, I'm shy around new people, but hanging around with other dogs in the lobby at Pet Placement Center has taught me a lot of things--most importantly, that cheese is the best food ever! I've also learned that a gentle paw on the arm elicits pets 100% of the time (possibly because I have the best puppy dog eyes in town). I recently spent some time in a foster home and made huge progress: I learned how to walk on a leash, figured out some of the weird sounds a house makes, and realized how much I enjoy sleeping in a big bed where I get cuddles from a human all night. I'll need patience and practice to continue acclimating to a home environment and get comfortable meeting new people, going on car rides, and walking on a leash. But once I've figured out you're my friend, it doesn't take long to win my love!   The adoption fee is $135 which includes a free veterinary exam within 2 weeks of adoption at local participating vets, up to date vaccinations, test for heartworms & heartworm preventative medication, dewormer, flea preventative, microchip, & spay or neuter. We're open Wednesday - Sunday 12 - 5 p.m but doing adoptions and meet & greets by appointment only.  If you are seriously interested in adopting please fill our our online application here: https://bit.ly/3HN4Tqq Check out our website at https://www.petplacementcenter.com/    January 30, 2026, 10:38 am
