Meet Oscar! Yes, his name is Oscar... because, well, he looks a little like an Oscar Mayer hot dog! This low-riding cutie has perfected the art of being a professional lap dog and firmly believes that life is best enjoyed from a cozy blanket, plush dog bed, or your lap. Oscar is on the lower-energy side and is happiest when he's snoozing in a comfy spot, snuggling with his favorite people, or squeaking the stuffing out of a toy. His crate is his happy place and safe space, and he's happily crate trained.
This sweet, goofy little guy can be a bit of a Nervous Nelly at first. New people can make him a little unsure, but give him a little patience and he'll soon realize you're a friend worth cuddling. Once you're in his circle, expect plenty of snuggles and loyal companionship.
Oscar gets along well with other dogs and cats, making him a great addition to a home with furry friends. Like many little dogs, he can occasionally be a bit grumbly when he's feeling unsure, but it's all talk—there's no true aggression behind it.

Spay/Neuter PolicyAny animal that has not been spayed or neutered at the time of adoption will require a signed Spay/Neuter Agreement and a refundable $100 deposit (payable by check or electronic payment). The procedure must be completed within six (6) months of the adoption date. Once Best Paws Rescue receives acceptable proof of the spay/neuter procedure, the deposit will be refunded to the adopter.Failure to comply with the terms of the Spay/Neuter Agreement within the required six (6) months will result in forfeiture of the deposit. If the procedure is performed by one of Best Paws Rescue’s approved veterinary partners, the full cost of the spay/neuter is covered by the adoption fee.
Ages and breeds are our best estimates, and we cannot make any guarantees. Most of our animals come from overcrowded shelters with limited resources. We do our best to evaluate each animal’s behavior and medical needs and place them into loving foster homes until they are ready to go home with you. Our organization is operated entirely by dedicated volunteers who give their time and love out of the goodness of their hearts.
