Story
Cody is a 3-year-old Beagle with the sweetest, gentlest little soul. At just 22 pounds, he is on the smaller side for a Beagle, and while he can be a bit of a shy violet at first, once he feels safe, all he really wants is to be close to his people.Cody spent his earlier years as a hunting dog, but hunting was never exactly his calling. He would much rather trade those days in for a warm lap, a cozy bed, and a life inside with a family of his own.Because he has not lived as a traditional house dog, Cody will need some patience and consistency with potty training as he learns his new routine. He gets along very well with other dogs and may enjoy having a canine companion to help show him the ropes.Cats and small animals are not a good fit for Cody due to his hunting background. As with any Beagle, we strongly encourage potential adopters to research the breed. Beagles are famously led by their noses, and that wonderful hound instinct can also mean they are more likely to wander if given the chance. A secure yard, leash supervision, and extra care around doors and gates will be important.Cody is ready to retire from hunting and start the good life: soft beds, warm laps, gentle affection, and a family he can stick close to.His adoption fee is $200 and this includes his neuter, vaccines, negative heartworm test, flea and tick prevention and heartworm prevention, and a microchip that we register for you.
