Story
Hi there! I'm Bruno! I am a young, happy guy who loves life, toys, and chew bones! My absolute favorite thing to do is celebrate when my humans come home. Seriously, get ready for a game of pattycakes the moment you step through the door!I am looking for a forever home that already has a resident dog. I do best when I have a pup sibling to keep me company, show me how to be a good boy, and teach me the ropes. If you love playtime and puppy high-fives, let's meet! Basics: He is a neutered male guessed to be around 3 yrs old and weighs close to 17lbs. He is currently in a foster home in Michigan City, IN Adoption Process: - STEP 1: Please fill out our adoption application: https://www.dayofthedogs.org/adoption-application - One of our team members will get back to you via phone. - Our dogs can be seen by appointment only. We do not have a facility at this time. Dogs are in foster homes or boarding - Adoption fee of $280 helps to cover transport costs, spay/neuter, initial vaccines, rabies, fecal, initial worming, and microchip. -We do not place holds on our dogs. Please do not contact us until you are prepared to adopt. NOTE: We are very good about updating the pet's profiles once adopted. So no need to write us to ask "Is he/she still available?" If the post is up, the dog is still available. About Day of the Dogs Day of the Dogs is a volunteer-driven 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to helping shelter and rescue dogs find safety, families, and second chances. Founded in 2015 by a Kansas City native, Day of the Dogs began after Pam moved to Houston, Texas and witnessed firsthand the devastating shelter overcrowding crisis facing southern communities, where some shelters have only days to find an outcome for homeless pets. Today, Day of the Dogs coordinates life-saving transports from Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, and other southern areas to rescue partners, shelters, fosters, and adopters in Northwest Indiana/Chicagoland and the Kansas City region — communities where adoption demand can help create better outcomes for pets in need. We also focus on long stay dogs in the Greater Kansas City and surrounding rural areas to help those pets get out of kennels and into homes. We also facilitate direct adoptions through our foster networks in both Kansas City and Northwest Indiana and partner with shelters and rescue organizations across Missouri, Kansas, Illinois, and Indiana to save more lives together. Because every open foster home creates another opportunity to save a dog, we are always looking for foster families to join our mission. Day of the Dogs operates entirely on donations. Every transport, veterinary appointment, supply purchase, and life saved is possible because of supporters who believe every dog deserves a chance. Donate or learn more: www.dayofthedogs.org

Story
Mona has arrived back with Day of the Dogs through no fault of her own. She was dearly loved by a senior gentleman, who due to health reasons could not keep Mona with him any longer. Mona had been a faithful companion for years, being treated as the princess she feels she should be....and we would agree. Mona is hoping for a quick transition to her next family, where she can take her place by her favorite person's side. Mona is doing her best to adjust to her loss, and is showing more interest in her new canine friends, but she very clearly would rather have a human connection. Mona has been pretty quiet, and is used to a quieter environment, but she does get excited on her walks. Like most dogs, she loves to explore the world on a walk. Mona can have a canine sibling, she gets along with her new pack of girlfriends, but would do best with an easy, laid back, or happy go lucky dog. She will play with her friends, but does not appreciate any excessive bossy behavior, or excessive crowding when she needs space. She feels respect is important from other dogs! Mona is move in ready, she is just waiting for her next home. Basics: She is a spayed female guessed to be around 5 yrs old and she weighs close to 40lbs. She is currently in a foster home in Rolling Prairie, IN Adoption Process: - Please fill out our adoption application: https://www.dayofthedogs.org/adoption-application - One of our team members will get back to you via phone. - Our dogs can be seen by appointment only.
