Story
Hiii! My name is Elsa, what's yours?? Oh, you want to know a little more about me? Really? Not many people have asked before. I've been told I can be a little long winded, whatever that means, so maybe you should buckle up! Let's see...I grew up in Carlsbad, NM. My owners cared for me well enough, but I sometimes felt as though I was more of a burden than anything. They didn't always have the time, energy, or desire to play with me, so I would find things to do by myself. I guess I have a way of always choosing the wrong things, though, and my people decided I was just too much for them. So, I ended - OOH SQUIRREL!! - uh, sorry. That's another thing, I like to keep a close eye on everything around me. Everything needs to be in its place. Uh, where was I? Oh yeah, I ended up at the shelter. The people there were nice though, and gave me so many treats. Oh, I love treats! They also took me outside to play with the other dogs, but I wasn't really in the playing mood. I chose to just sit back and watch the others. Until I saw more treats come out, of course. Then I'd join the group, patiently waiting my turn. After all, there were enough treats to go around, I figured I'd be nice and let everyone try a few. After a couple weeks, I was told I was getting out of the shelter! The folks here at Denkai agreed to take me in while I look for a new home. So, I loaded up and headed to Cortez, CO! It's been pretty nice here. I get to be in a home, I get love, and - OH, ANOTHER SQUIRREL! - nope, just a dust bunny. See, you've gotta keep your eyes peeled. You never what's going to pop up. Anyway, I almost had a home a little while back. It was nice, except there was another dog there that wanted me to share EVERYTHING. I don't know why he didn't realize that all of the toys and food became mine as soon as I walked in the house. There were also some tiny humans running around that freaked me out, and the cat kept looking at me sideways. I think he was planning something. Apparently that wasn't the right home for me, so my foster parents took me back. People are always telling me how beautiful I am. In hopes that it will help me get adopted, I always try to look my best. This one time I had some tangles in my hair, so I tried to borrow a hairbrush to get them out. Unfortunately, I didn't realize that that's really hard to do without thumbs, and my teeth just crunched the brush into a bunch of pieces. Oops! ‍ My foster mom has a lot of pretty stuff here. I love to roll around in her pillows and blankets. They're kind of weird though, they'll just randomly explode! I swear. Just so you know, the stuff inside may look like cotton candy, but it does NOT taste like it. Actually, now that I mention it, there's a lot of things that look like they would be delicious, but are definitely not. Take my word for it. Moving on. Honestly, I'm getting a little stir crazy here. I would love to be somewhere I can just run free for a bit. Of course, I'll need someone I can come back and curl up on the couch with to rest and recharge. I really just long for someone I can build a strong connection with. Just me and them against the world sort of thing. Do you know of anyone that would be down for that? Or maybe it's you? Either way, could you help me find my forever home. Please? I think you need to submit an application before you can take me. I'll get you the link for that! And while you're filling it out, I'm going to go chase this squirrel. No, wait, it's a prairie dog. Eh, I'm gonna try to get it anyway!https://www.wagtopia.com/search/pet?id=2314935&name=Elsa ##2314935##
