Story
Meet Daphne, newly adoptable little cutie! Nine pounds of floof, affection, and absolute devotion. Daphne is about 3 years old and the kind of little dog people dream about finding…soft, sweet, and happiest when she’s right by your side. She’s a true Velcro dog who would gladly spend 24/7 as your tiny shadow, curled beside you on the couch, following you from room to room, and making sure you never have to do life alone. She’s potty trained, quick to learn, and eager to please. She came into rescue as a stray, and after her hold was up, she found herself needing a little extra help finding the home she truly deserves. We suspect she’s a Maltipoo, maybe with a little Bichon mixed in, but mostly she’s just the perfect blend of tiny, cuddly, and completely lovable. Daphne gets along well with other dogs and cats, once she has a little time to settle in and feel safe. She loves people easily, but what she’s really searching for is HER person, that special human she can bond with deeply and follow faithfully through all the ordinary little moments that make up a life. She is the kind of dog who will make your house feel softer, warmer, and more like home. If you’ve been looking for a tiny best friend with a huge heart, Daphne may be waiting for you. Story
Moose is a 7-year-old, 28 lb. Wheaten Terrier / Poodle mix boy with a big heart and a loyal personality. He is dearly loved by his family, who adopted him 7 years ago, but with young children in the home they can no longer give him the calm environment and attention he needs. Moose is affectionate, playful, smart, and deeply bonded to his adult humans. He loves snuggling, following his people around the house, fetch, tug-of-war, hide-and-seek, and relaxing nearby on work-from-home days. He even gives “hugs” by gently placing his paws on your shoulders and giving kisses. Moose is fully house trained, trusted loose in the house when home alone, and generally very well-mannered indoors. He knows many commands, including sit, down, stay, settle, touch, leave it, take it, rollover, high-five, hug, and get your ball. Moose has lived successfully with another dog and loved his Pomeranian sister for 5 years. He has also done well with doggie daycare and boarding, once given time to adjust. Moose’s best fit is an adult-only home or a home without young children. He has shown stress signals around young kids and would do best in a calmer household. He is also leash reactive and may bark or pull when seeing strangers or unfamiliar dogs, so he needs an experienced adopter willing to manage walks thoughtfully. Moose is treat motivated, loyal, affectionate, and very trainable. With the right home, he has a lot of love and companionship to give. Send us an email if you're interested in Moose at SummitDogRescue@gmail.com, telling us a bit about yourself, your home environment and your lifestyle. A volunteer will get back to you shortly.
