Meet Maggie Maggie is an 11 year old purebred Ragdoll (birthdate 2/2/2015) She is good with children and gets along with other cats. She is unbelievably gorgeous with seal-point markings and clear blue eyes. We believe she would do best in a home that has cats but not lots of them because she has been a little stressed here at the shelter with the number we have. She needs to have a space she can retreat to. She has warmed up to several staff and volunteers but she does pick her people, so a meet is a necessity. She will come to you for loves but gently lets you know when she is done. She is a senior beauty that finds herself with us, as her family is no longer able to take care of her. Maggie has been let down and is dealing with the trauma of finding herself in a shelter full of cats at a time when she's supposed to be living out her life with the family she loved. We want to make sure she has the best home she possibly can. you be her new family? We do permit out-of-state adoptions. Adopters MUST come to the shelter to transport their new family member home. We do not ship, nor do we transport them to their new homes. Charles Smithgall Humane Society (CSHS) is a No kill shelter. Animals in our care remain safe with us until adopted. She loves human company and will approach visitors with cautious curiosity, taking everything at her own thoughtful pace.  Dandy is very playful and especially loves the laser pointer. When it comes to affection, she’ll allow one head pet—and then, very politely, she’ll tap you with her paw to let you know she’s had enough. She’s gentle, communicative, and clearly trying her best. Dandy will thrive with a patient, understanding adopter who’s willing to continue her socialization and let her confidence grow naturally.
