Story
DOB March 28, 2019 As a rescue from a hoarding situation, Truffle displays consistent trauma and fear-based aggression: growling, prolonged hissing, lunging, and swiping with claws. He actively avoids eye contact and rejects all physical handling. He is not currently socialized to humans. He need to go to a single-pet household, with a quiet, low-stimulation environment and significant time to decompress before any socialization attempts begin. Truffle is not a beginner cat; he requires an adopter with experience socializing fearful or aggressive cats, someone who understands that progress will be slow, setbacks will happen, and that handling attempts made too early will erode trust rather than build it. He is not recommended for homes with children, other pets, or high household traffic. The right adopter will know exactly what they’re taking on.

Story
DOB: February 1st, 2016 Meet Thor - Your Calm and Gentle Blue-Eyed Ragdoll Companion Thor is the cat who will quietly steal your heart and make himself at home in it. He's DEEPLY affectionate and settles into new environments quite easily. Once he feels safe, his loving nature truly shines. He forms strong bonds with his people and LOVES being close, whether that’s curling up on your chest or snuggling beside you in bed (his favorite place is right over your heart). He has a relaxed easygoing temperament. While he’ll enjoy short play sessions with a wand toy, his true happiness comes from quiet companionship with lots of cuddles, closeness, and simply being near you. Thor has proved that he gets along well with other cats and would very likely do well in a home with other pets thanks to his passive and sweet nature. He has excellent manners and uses the litter box perfectly. Thor has the cutest little personality details that make him extra special. His soft gentle meow has a unique garbled sound that reminds me of a tiny Chewbacca which makes it feel like he’s having sweet little conversations with you. When he's eating dry or even wet food, you can hear him making an adorable “crunching” sound as if he’s really savoring every bite, sometimes even after he’s finished! Combined with his rounded features and adorable folded ears, he has the sweetest little otter-like look which is incredibility unique and "otterly" irresistible, making you fall instantly in love with him! Thor is thriving in his foster home and has previously lived with other cats, in his previous home and his foster home. He has been snuggling comfortably with his foster sibling, a 3 year old Russian Blue. His easygoing nature and past experience make him an excellent candidate for a single or multi-pet household. He’s the kind of companion who simply wants and needs to be near you or even a feline friend you may already have. Thor has been diagnosed with early-stage (Stage 2) renal disease. Renal Disease - Kidney disease in cats, particularly Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD), is the slow, progressive, and irreversible loss of kidney function, often affecting older cats. It involves the inability to filter waste properly or concentrate urine, causing increased thirst, weight loss, and toxic waste buildup. While chronic (long-term) is common, acute renal failure can also occur. He is currently doing well and does not require any medication at this time. To support his health, he will need to stay on a low-protein (senior) diet and continue with routine monitoring. From what Thor's foster knows, renal diet is not available in pet stores but it can be purchased from "Mollies.ca" which is the official online store for VCA (Veterinary Centers of America) Canada or from your vet. He also benefits from brushing to keep his beautiful coat free of mats (and to manage shedding typically April/May and October/November) along with sanitary trim (also known as hygiene trim or butt trim). Occasional eye cleaning as well to keep him comfortable. Thor is looking for a true forever home, a place where he will be loved and never have to experience the uncertainty of being rehomed again. To ensure the best match, it’s important that everyone in the household is comfortable around cats, the fur shedding and non-allergic. If you’re looking for a gentle, soulful companion with a unique look, a loving heart, and the sweetest personality, Thor IS the one you’ve been waiting for!  Thank you for welcoming a senior cat into your family - an adoption fee of your choice is appreciated, vs. our standard adult cat adoption fee of $250.
