River – Smart, Loyal, and Full of Heart River is a sweet and intelligent Terrier mix with a gentle, loving nature and a strong desire to bond with her people. She’s the kind of dog who enjoys simply being near you — whether that’s relaxing at your feet, sitting beside you on the couch, or quietly following you from room to room. River is very affectionate, but she does have one important preference: she does not like to be picked up. We believe she may have experienced some trauma in her past, so she feels safest when her boundaries are respected. She is not reactive or aggressive — she simply prefers interaction on her own terms. What River does love is companionship. She thrives on connection and will form a deep bond with her person. She’s also extremely smart and aware of her surroundings, making her a wonderful companion for someone who appreciates a thoughtful, intuitive dog.
