Story
Remington, colloquially known as “Remi”. He’s about 14 or 15. Rat terrier mix. My mom had him for about 11 years. He was a rescue/surrender to the vet she worked for at the time. My husband and I unexpectedly took him in in 2023 when my mom suddenly passed away. He can be an anxious boy and we did have some resource guarding issues with him around the time my mom died but He had been through a lot! He’s much better now, loves adults and really just wants one on one companionship. The issue I am running into now is that we now have an 18 month old toddler with a newborn on the way. He is not overtly aggressive but has shown again some resource guarding with my now curious toddler. We have spoken with the vet who didn’t have great suggestions. This is incredibly difficult as he was my mom’s dog, and he is a sweetheart! But I am truly afraid for what may happen and trying to prevent a disaster before it occurs. Looking for a family that would be willing to also keep us a part!

Story
Butters is truly a wonderful dog. He is extremely sensitive to his owners and loves to cuddle. He doesn’t like to be picked up but on the floor or on your lap he loves a good belly rub. He is very gentle with kids as long as they are gentle with him. He doesn’t like tail pulling but absolutely loves being with the kids and around them and being pet by them. He likes other small dogs but is apprehensive to larger dogs. He doesn’t mind cats or small animals and is overall a very relaxed dog around company. He needs someone who has more time and is not out the house all day like our busy family, as he doesn’t like to be left alone for too long. He doesn’t like a crate but typically is fine in a room or house as long as the people of the home are not gone all day. Overall he truly is a wonderful dog, kind, calm and goes with the flow.
