Chico is a 4-year-old Rat Terrier I took in from a friend. When he first came to me, he was a little shy, but he has grown so much and continues to gain confidence every day. He warms up quickly and is incredibly sweet, gentle, and affectionate. Once he bonds with you, he loves staying close and being part of whatever you’re doing. He is fully house-trained and has never had an accident indoors. Chico enjoys walks, relaxing at home, and spending time with his people. He does well around other dogs and has a calm, easygoing temperament. Unfortunately, my Husky does not do well with other dogs, and Chico deserves a home where he can feel completely safe and thrive. He would make a loyal, loving addition to the right family.

Thankfully, the angels at Guardians of Florida Animal Rescue came for us and we are now safe at the rescue.I am estimated at just a year old and last weighed in at 24 lbs. Best guess at my breed is a rat terrier/chi mix. I walk well on leash and even know a few of my basic cues! Found huddled together beneath a shed in the freezing cold of rural Alabama, these sweet little rat terrier–type puppies endured more in their first weeks than any baby ever should. Tragically, their siblings didn’t survive the cold; but these brave little souls held on. And today, they are warm, safe, thriving, and full of playful puppy joy.
