Story
🎸 Presenting: Sir Ukulele A large personality in a slightly-too-large body. Sir Ukulele (yes, Sir — he insists) is a 6-year-old Rat Terrier with the gorgeous blue coat of a runway model and the long delicate legs of a deer that just woke up. Some say corgi, some say terrier, some say “is that a woodland prince?” — but everyone agrees: he’s adorable. Currently weighing in at 23 lbs of love (and snacks), Sir Ukulele is supposed to be closer to 15 pounds… and he’s working on it. If you’ve ever tried to skip dessert, you’ll understand his journey. ⸻ 🎸 Personality & Lifestyle Notes • Very friendly — he’s never met a stranger, just future fans • Gives world-class hugs (full body, committed, leaning in) • Prefers not to be left alone and will make this VERY clear • Needs to learn that crates aren’t portals to sadness • Great with other dogs and would love a dog sibling • Cats & respectful kids are totally fine • Potty training = still in progress, but he’s trying! • Leash walks are great… unless the destination is the vet 😬 • Nail trims? Oh absolutely not. He has strong opinions. ⸻ 🎸 What He Needs Sir Ukulele would thrive with: • A strong, calm leader (who can lovingly enforce rules) • A dog buddy to help him feel secure • Someone home more than not • A sense of humor (optional, but recommended) He’s sensitive, loving, and deeply people-oriented. He wants to love hard — he just needs someone to show him that independence and structure are safe, not scary. ⸻ 🎸 The Vibes Sir Ukulele is the dog who: • Will follow you into the bathroom • Will press his head against your chest during a hug • Will act like trim-time is a Greek tragedy • And will look at you in a way that makes you forget every inconvenience instantly He is beautiful, devoted, and ready for his next chapter — with someone who sees not just who he is, but who he can become. If your heart just said “that’s my boy,” Sir Ukulele is waiting for you. 🤍🎸 Please apply here: https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/DBSR/Dog His minimum adoption donation amount is $275. He is neutered, up-to-date on vaccinations, microchipped, dewormed, heart worm checked, and on flea/tick and heart worm preventatives. We are located in Bloomington, IL We do not ship, you would need to travel to pick up your babies if you live out of state. Your current pets must be up-to-date on core vaccines, spayed/neutered, and on heart worm prevention year round. You must be at least 21-years-old to adopt. Please have your veterinarian and two non-family reference phone numbers ready. The app makes you start all over if you leave the page to look up numbers. Story
Dodgeball is a spunky, playful pup who’s always ready for a game of chase or a romp around the yard with his doggy friends. He’s a social butterfly with other dogs and already potty-trained, the total package! Dodgeball came into foster care after a rough start to life, but you’d never know it from his joyful spirit. He had some old scars and healing spots, but he’s healing beautifully and hasn’t let his past slow him down one bit. This little guy has plenty of energy and would love an active family who enjoys walks, playtime, and snuggles after a day of fun. Dodgeball has so much love to give and he’s ready to find his forever home and start the best chapter of his life! Story
This is what her Foster to has to say about Annie: Annie is a fun, intelligent dog that would do well in agility classes as she is smart, strong, and fast. Annie is easy to take care of; she keeps her kennel clean. Annie doesn't potty on the floor as long as you take her out regularly. Annie gets along with other dogs and will race them to see who can sit on your lap first. Annie is affectionate and loving and gets along well with my 3-year-old grandson. I don't have any cats to see how she is with them. Annie loves her squeaky toys and is very playful. She is an expert at fetch and brings it directly back to you. She walks great on a leash. I wouldn’t say she’d be great at the agility course (in current profile) just yet as she trips going up my stairs sometimes. She loves her people and wants to be by your side as much as possible. She listens very well. She sleeps with me and two other dogs and does great. She loves being outside as much as by your side on the couch. Overall, Annie is a fun little dog!
