Story
Sir Ukulele is a 6-year-old Rat Terrier with a stunning blue coat, long deer-like legs, and undeniable main-character energy. Currently 23 pounds (aiming for 15), he’s on a relatable wellness journey fueled by love… and snacks. The good stuff: • Extremely friendly — strangers are just future friends • Gives full-body, world-class hugs • Great with other dogs; would love a dog sibling • Cats and respectful kids are fine • Leash walks are great • Potty training in progress • Car rides fine (unless it’s to the vet) The honest stuff: • Doesn’t love being alone • Nail trims = absolutely not Sir Ukulele would thrive with someone who’s home often, has a calm, confident leadership style, and a sense of humor. He’s sensitive, affectionate, and deeply devoted — the kind of dog who will follow you everywhere, hug you like he means it, and make you laugh daily. If you want a loyal, hilarious, big-hearted companion, Sir Ukulele is ready for his next chapter. Please apply here: https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/DBSR/Dog His minimum adoption donation amount is $275. He is neutered, up-to-date on vaccinations, microchipped, dewormed, heart worm checked, and on flea/tick and heart worm preventatives. We are located in Bloomington, IL We do not ship, you would need to travel to pick up your babies if you live out of state. Your current pets must be up-to-date on core vaccines, spayed/neutered, and on heart worm prevention year round. You must be at least 21-years-old to adopt. Story
Meet Mopsy, who gets along well with his sister, Flopsy, who's also available for adoption. Mopsy is an 8-year-old Rat Terrier Mix who weighs 30.9 pounds. Both of these sweethearts are as lovable as they come! They’re easygoing, affectionate pups who get along wonderfully and even share a kennel together. Although they don’t need to be adopted as a pair, they certainly enjoy each other’s company and would love to stay together if the right adopter comes along. Both dogs are currently on a weight-loss journey and need families committed to helping them live healthier lives through proper diet and regular exercise. Daily walks, portion control, and plenty of encouragement will go a long way in helping these deserving pups feel their best. If you’re looking for a low-drama companion with a big heart and even bigger cuddle potential, Mopsy might be the perfect fit! His minimum adoption fee is $300 plus a $15 fee, if 4 months or older, for rabies registration for McLean County residents.  If you'd like to adopt Flopsy and Mopsy together, the adoption fee would be $500 for the pair, plus $15 for each dog for rabies transfer in McLean County. He has been spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, heartworm checked, dewormed, and is on flea and heartworm preventatives. Story
Ike is a Jack Russell Terrier mix (best guess!) with a playful heart and a whole lot of charm packed into his 17.5-pound frame. Born on 1/8/26 (estimated), he’s a happy, curious puppy who brings a nice balance of energy and affection to the mix. Ike enjoys all the classic puppy activities—running around the house, playing with toys, and having fun with other dogs—but what really sets him apart is his sweet, snuggly side. He’s the kind of pup who will happily pause mid-play to climb into your lap and soak up some attention. He’s generous with kisses and loves being close to his people, making him a great match for someone looking for both a playmate and a cuddle buddy. He’s already doing well with crate training and is mostly potty trained, though he still has occasional accidents as he continues learning. Ike is a smart puppy who picks things up quickly and will benefit from a family committed to continuing his training, including house manners and basic obedience. Like many young pups, he can get a little excited and may jump up on people, but with consistency, he’ll continue to improve. Ike is friendly, outgoing, and does well with other dogs, cats, and new people. He hasn’t been exposed to children yet but has the kind of easygoing, affectionate personality that could make him a great addition to many types of homes. While not required, he would likely enjoy having another dog around for companionship and play. If you’re looking for a puppy who can keep up with playtime but also melt into your lap at the end of the day, Ike might be your perfect fit. His minimum adoption fee is $350 plus a $15 fee, if 4 months or older, for rabies registration for McLean County residents. He has been neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, heartworm checked, dewormed, and is on flea and heartworm preventatives. Story
We can't have a Bonnie without a Clyde! Clyde was terrified at animal control, and he showed teeth to just about everyone. He LOVES other dogs, and quickly started to trust his foster mom. Sometimes, they just need patience and love. This is why foster families are SO important! Clyde was at risk of euthanasia due to his fear-based aggression. This poor little guy was just misunderstood. He is just 3-years-old, and he is a little plump at 12-pounds. We think he's likely a Chihuahua/JRT mix. Clyde must have another friendly dog in his forever home. He would be best in a family without young children. Someone who can continue to help him to trust strangers would be ideal. Clyde is good on a leash, in the car, likes to cuddle, and he likes to play. He is fine in a crate, but you have to let him come out on his own time. He is terrified if you try to pull him out manually. Can you help bring joy to a little lad like Clyde? If so, he promises to return that love in spades. Please apply here: https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/DBSR/Dog His minimum adoption donation amount is $345. He is neutered, up-to-date on vaccinations, microchipped, dewormed, heart worm checked, and on flea/tick and heart worm preventatives. Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Hi, I'm Pepsi. I feel like I'm a little misunderstood so I'd like to explain me better. You see, I've really never known love, the warmth of a home, having my own food, a warm bed, toys to play with, or anything like that. I have foster siblings that try to show me, and a foster mom that is really patient with me, and I'm trying, but sometimes I want left alone to process. Please don't think I don't love you and want to be around you, I am just overwhelmed. When I'm eating, I don't want anyone around me, I'm afraid you'll take my food before I'm full or my fur siblings won't let me have it to begin with. I'm really afraid of sudden movements because I don't know what's happening and why you're suddenly changing your behavior so fast. You're so much bigger than me so I get afraid when you walk by because you might step on me and hurt me so I'm going to run past you and get out of the way; please just let me out of the way. I hate my feet being touched, please don't touch them for any reason; if they're dirty, let me stand in water to soak them clean, if they're wet, let me lay on a towel on your lap and pet me while they dry, it's probably best that a Vet trims my nails so I can be sedated otherwise it's probably best if I wear a muzzle. When I come into the room where you are, that's me showing you my affection. I'll come up to you and stand by you and smell you and let you pet me as long as you don't scare me with sudden movements. If you pick me up and set me on your lap, I'll lay with you and snuggle while you pet me...I really do love pers, I just get afraid sometimes and need you to tell me I'm safe and you won't hurt me. I like to rock with you at a slow easy pace, and it's even better if you read to me. I don't care what you read, I like to hear a quiet calm voice. My foster mom is working on my confidence. She holds me in front of a mirror and tells me I'm beautiful and that I'm loved and safe, and what a big brave girl I'm becoming; this reassures me that you love me and want me to be your family. I may take a little extra work and patience, but I'm an amazing girl and will be a great family member if you take the time with me All Pet Central animals are up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations, spayed or neutered, microchipped (registration included), and current on parasite prevention. Dogs over six-months of age are heartworm tested. When adopting, we will ensure that you receive copies of veterinary and microchip records. If you are interested in this pet, please fill out the brief Adopter Survey by hitting "Apply for Adoption" on the profile. After we review your completed survey, we will contact you by phone or email within three business days. We're primarily a volunteer organization, so we appreciate your patience. Please note- Out of respect for our volunteers and staff, we are closed on Sundays and Mondays and will not be processing any applications on that day. Do get back to us right away when we call or email regarding an application so that we can quickly connect using the process below: Select a pet and submit an online adoption survey. A PCH adoption counselor will contact potential adopters within three business days (PCH cannot guarantee any pet's availability, but we make every effort to accommodate adopters with a reply and possible alternative suggestions). Counselor and client will then have a conversation to answer questions, discuss any medical needs for the pet and determine the suitability of a match (if necessary, we may opt to put adopters in touch with foster parents). After a match is made, clients will be asked to sign our adoption agreement and pay the adoption fee online through our secure payment system *Please see our modified no-risk return policy. (below) The PCH adoption counselor will then set up a specific appointment time and location. Adopters should bring a pet carrier and leash to pick up. Adult pets will be wearing a collar. It is important that clients arrive on time, neither early nor late. If your adoption is scheduled at Pet Central Helps!: Upon arrival inside the Crossroads Center complex (360 Wylie Drive), look for the black Pet Central Helps! semi-trailer, which is right outside of our facility (Suite 720). Park in the parking lot and enter the facility. A PCH representative will greet you and show you to the adoption room. Your new pet will be handed to you. We will take a "Happy Adoption Day photo with your pet and family. If your adoption is scheduled at PetSmart: Park in the PetSmart Parking lot and enter the store. We will be set up just inside the store entrance. Let us know you are here to pick up your pet! A PCH representative will confirm your information and hand you your pet. We will take a "Happy Adoption Day photo with your pet and family. PCH supports a 21-day no-fault return policy in which adopters are given the opportunity to find a better match. If we are not able to provide advice/tools to keep a pet in the home we offer these options: Exchange for a pet that may be a better match** Receive a refund minus a $40 processing fee** With this approach, we can often turn mismatches into opportunities! Thank you, Pet Central Helps!
