Story
Sir Ukulele is a 6-year-old Rat Terrier with a stunning blue coat, long deer-like legs, and undeniable main-character energy. Currently 23 pounds (aiming for 15), he’s on a relatable wellness journey fueled by love… and snacks. The good stuff: • Extremely friendly — strangers are just future friends • Gives full-body, world-class hugs • Great with other dogs; would love a dog sibling • Cats and respectful kids are fine • Leash walks are great • Potty training in progress • Car rides fine (unless it’s to the vet) The honest stuff: • Doesn’t love being alone • Nail trims = absolutely not Sir Ukulele would thrive with someone who’s home often, has a calm, confident leadership style, and a sense of humor. He’s sensitive, affectionate, and deeply devoted — the kind of dog who will follow you everywhere, hug you like he means it, and make you laugh daily. If you want a loyal, hilarious, big-hearted companion, Sir Ukulele is ready for his next chapter. Please apply here: https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/DBSR/Dog His minimum adoption donation amount is $275. He is neutered, up-to-date on vaccinations, microchipped, dewormed, heart worm checked, and on flea/tick and heart worm preventatives. We are located in Bloomington, IL We do not ship, you would need to travel to pick up your babies if you live out of state. Your current pets must be up-to-date on core vaccines, spayed/neutered, and on heart worm prevention year round. You must be at least 21-years-old to adopt. Please have your veterinarian and two non-family reference phone numbers ready. The app makes you start all over if you leave the page to look up numbers. Ike is an adorable 16-pound puppy with a playful spirit and a personality that’s sure to keep you smiling. Our best guess is he is a Jack Russell Terrier mix, but his DNA is really a mystery. Born on 1/8/26, this sweet boy is full of all the classic puppy charm: energy, curiosity, affection, and just the right amount of chaos to keep life interesting. He’s the kind of pup who will happily bring joy, laughter, and a little bit of mischief-free mayhem to his forever home. As a young puppy, Ike will need a family ready to help him learn the ropes. He’s still at the age where house training, crate training, and basic obedience will all be important parts of his routine. Like all puppies, he’ll thrive with structure, patience, and positive guidance as he grows into a wonderful lifelong companion. Ike is very friendly, loves meeting people, and is ready to find a family to call his own. If you’re looking for a fun-loving, affectionate puppy to add to your home, Ike may be the one you’ve been waiting for. Story
I have had the privilege of being with Nellie for 10 days and she is truly the sweetest young lady you’ll ever meet! There isn’t a soul on the planet that is going to be more excited to see you everyday than her. She happily greets me with crazy tail wags every time I enter the room. Nellie has had a few accidents in the house, but typically goes to the door when she needs to potty. She has seemed to absolutely love the outdoors whether she is playing with her friends, keeping an eye on her babies, playing with sticks, or even just laying in the sun. Nellie is a momma of 3 and has taken amazing care of her babies. She is ready to find her forever home where she gets all the attention she deserves. Nellie has met many other dogs, big and small, and she has done great with every single one of them. Her favorite thing might just be a little game of fetch with her tennis ball. And yes, she DOES bring the ball back! Nellie may be a little shy at first but after a few hours, she’s your best friend. Does Nellie sound like the perfect fit for you? Apply to adopt NOW! All Pet Central animals are up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations, spayed or neutered, microchipped (registration included), and current on parasite prevention. Dogs over six-months of age are heartworm tested. When adopting, we will ensure that you receive copies of veterinary and microchip records. Records are sent via email. Paper versions are available upon request. If you are interested in this pet, please fill out the brief Adopter Survey by hitting "Apply for Adoption" on the profile above. After we review your completed survey, we will contact you by phone or email within three business days. Please note- Out of respect for our volunteers and staff, we are closed on Sunday and Monday and will not be processing any applications on those days. Please get back to us right away when we call or email regarding an application so that we can quickly connect using the process below: Select a pet and submit an online adoption survey. A PCH! adoption counselor will contact potential adopters within three business days (PCH! cannot guarantee any pet's availability, but we make every effort to accommodate adopters with a reply and possible alternative suggestions). An adoption counselor and client will then have a conversation to answer questions, discuss any medical needs for the pet and determine the suitability of a match (if necessary, we may opt to put adopters in touch with foster parents). After a match is made, clients will be asked to sign our adoption agreement and pay the adoption fee online through our secure payment system *Please see our modified no-risk return policy. (below) The PCH! adoption counselor will then set up a specific appointment time and location. Adopters should bring a pet carrier and/or a leash to pick up and their ID. Adult pets will be wearing a collar. It is important that clients arrive on time, neither early nor late. Cats and kittens are required to leave in a pet carrier. If your adoption is scheduled at Pet Central Helps!: Upon arrival inside the Crossroads Center complex (360 Wylie Drive), look for the black Pet Central Helps! semi-trailer, which is right outside of our facility (Suite 720). Park in the parking lot and enter the facility. A PCH! representative will greet you and show you to the adoption room. Your new pet will be handed to you. We will take a "Happy Adoption Day” photo with your pet and family. If your adoption is scheduled at PetSmart – Bloomington, IL: Park in the PetSmart (1606 E. Empire St.) Parking lot and enter the store. We will be set up just inside the store entrance. Let us know you are here to pick up your pet! A PCH! representative will confirm your information and hand you your pet. We will take a "Happy Adoption Day” photo with your pet and family. If your adoption is scheduled at the Cat’s Meow Cafe: Navigate to PetSmart, park in the parking lot and enter the store. Locate a PCH! Representative at our adoption table and let them know you are picking up a Cat Cafe Cat. You will sign your final contract with your counselor and snap a picture of the completed screen. Head to the Cat’s Meow Cafe at 507 N. Hershey Rd and provide them with the snapshot of your final contract. They will get your cat and take a “Happy Adoption Day” photo with your pet and family. PCH! supports a 30-day no-fault return policy in which adopters are given the opportunity to find a better match. If we cannot provide advice/tools to keep a pet in the home we offer these options: Exchange for a pet that may be a better match** Receive a refund minus a $40 processing fee** With this approach, we can often turn mismatches into opportunities! Thank you, Pet Central Helps!
