Story
Nova is a charming 5-year-old female with a sleek, short coat and a medium-sized stature. She's spayed and well-mannered, embodying a loving personality that shines through with her affectionate snuggles under a cozy blanket. Nova revels in the simple pleasures of life, finding joy in leisurely walks and calm car rides. She's fully house trained, making her a fuss-free companion. Despite her cuddly nature, Nova does have special needs, as she experiences seizures, which require a caring and attentive family that can manage her condition with compassion and ensure she gets her medications. Ideally suited for a quieter home, she has a preference for the company of older children, with whom she can feel safe and secure. Moreover, Nova is protective of her food with other animals, so an understanding approach to her mealtime is essential. With the right family, Nova is ready to offer a lifetime of loyalty and love, asking for little more than a gentle touch and a warm heart in return. If you are interested in adopting this pet, please go to www.midwestpetrefuge.com/adopt to complete an application. Alexis here. Fatima and I had a blast at the Lucky dog 5k with our human friend. She said to tell you we were both champs! And thank goodness for the leash coupler which allowed her to hook our harnesses together and use only one leash. We met tons of dog and human friends today. I like to keep watch while Fatima snuggles with humans. We take turns snuggling. The lady said it takes a little muscle to walk our combined 60 pounds – but if she can do it at 61 – so can you! We are 2-year-old bonded sisters that want to go to a home together. We are good with children, other dogs and we are spayed and vaccinated. Have fun trying to guess our breeds… Come meet us today (and please take us home) at Indianapolis Animal Care Services.

All adoptions come with 30-days of support from our staff to help make sure the transition from the shelter to your home goes as smoothly as possible.

All of our available animals and the adoption application can be found here: https://indy.gov/activity/adopt-a-pet. Once you have submitted your application, please visit the shelter to speak with an Adoption Counselor and meet our available animals.
