Story
Boomer is a loveable, sweet 4 year old Rat Terrier. He is full of energy, loves toys and treats, and being close to his humans. We have had Boomer since he was a puppy, but with the introduction of a new baby, we have had to make the very difficult decision to find him a home where he can have all the attention he deserves. He is house trained, crate trained, and walks well on the leash. He loves to sniff and explore, we have also taken him on a few hikes that he did fantastic on. He's wonderful with people, energetic and affectionate, but he does not enjoy being repeatedly approached or crowded by other dogs. If he feels trapped or overwhelmed, he'll sometimes give a quick corrective snap. He's never attacked another dog. He has never bit anybody, and there has been no signs of him showing any aggression. We are really hoping to find him a home that will be a good fit for him. We love him so much and its very hard to let him go, so a safe and happy home is important to us.

Story
Hi! I am Rocky - a young Rat Terrier/Chihuahua mix. I found myself locked up in the back of a police squad car after being left out on the streets. No one reclaimed me - which is to everyone's surprise. I am a handsome boy who is in fact the goodest boy there is. I am super sweet, very affectionate and a loving pup. I crave people's attention and thrive with your undivided attention. I do have some separation anxiety. I do not like to be locked inside a kennel - I will tell you all about it, actually. I need to be by your side, or on your lap. I am perfect sized and comfortably will plop down waiting for your love and pets. I love to shower people with lots of kisses and snuggles. For this reason, I need a home where I am with people for majority of the day - if not all of the day. I am neutered and I am up to date on my age appropriate vaccines. I have been 4DX tested and am negative for Heartworm, Ehrlichia, Lyme and Anaplasma. I am negative for everything. I receive routine flea and tick preventatives, monthly as well as some well deserved pampering periodically: brushing, nail trims & ear cleaning. I am a bit of a diva with nail trims though. I do NOT like them and I have to wear a muzzle because I'm very particular about my nails. My ideal home includes a home where I can get lots of love and attention. I am considered a bit of an anxious dog so I need a calm individual to be my person. I need to be the center of your world. Despite being a little dramatic, I promise you I will love you intensely and with my whole heart. I do not know how I would do with other dogs. I do not seem to mind the cats that are in roll cages. I do not know how I would do with cats freely roaming. I would do best in a home with older kids who understand boundaries. I would prefer a calmer home to keep my anxiety levels controlled. I need a family that is caring, compassionate and loving. I want a family that is patient, willing to give me what I need: a warm bed, plenty of good food & clean water, and lots of pets and love. My shelter family works tirelessly to ensure I and my friends go to the right family. If you feel that person is you, I'd love to meet you.
