Story
Shiloh is a very sweet 13 lb. dog that I adopted last July. I did not realize how busy my schedule really was until I had to face leaving her alone so much. In addition, I live in a third floor apartment. Between having a busy schedule and not having a yard, I realize now this is not the greatest situation for a dog. It breaks my heart to give her up, but it's just not working. She is very low key and gets along with my cat and she enjoys dogs her size. She is approx. 6 years old and in good health. I would love her to have a fenced yard or a home with kids or both!

Story
Meet Max – The Spicy Senior with a Heart of Gold! Hola, amigos! My name is Max, and I may be 12 years young, but don’t let my age fool you—I’ve still got plenty of pep in my paws (yes, I still get the zoomies!). I’m a charming terrier mix originally from the Dominican Republic but have lived in the US since a puppy, so don’t be surprised if you hear me throw in a little Spanish flair with my howls—¡ay caramba! I weigh between 25-30 pounds and life sure threw me a curveball recently when my lifelong human had to give me up due to tough circumstances. But I’m ready to start a new chapter in a quiet, loving home where I can enjoy my golden years in peace and comfort. Here’s the lowdown on me: I LOVE going for walks (my favorite activity!), belly rubs, and just being by your side. I'm told I'm just an easy dog to love! I’m a people person through and through— I’d prefer a home with adults/teens no youngsters--acalm home where I can nap, sunbathe, and maybe share a porch with another chill dog buddy is the best. I do get a little protective of my food—it’s nothing personal, just a polite “paws off” warning. But I will sit and wait for you to give me the ok to eat instead of just jumping in. I’m in great health and have been well cared for my whole life—no meds, no issues, just a spunky soul in a senior body! Max is ready to be someone’s loyal shadow and cuddle buddy. If you're looking for a sweet, soulful companion to share quiet days and peaceful walks with, Max is your guy. He is potty-trained, good with dogs and cats, and can be left alone while you are away. Help him live out his retirement in the love-filled home he deserves by filling out an application at www.HavenAnimalRescueNebraska.com   ADOPTION DONATION: $225 *All dogs must be inside companion animals. They are neutered/spayed, up to date on vaccinations, microchipped, HW tested and preventatives given.   PLEASE SUBMIT AN APPLICATION AT: https://havenanimalrescuenebraska.org/adoption-application We do not have a facility. All of our animals are in volunteer foster homes. Once an application is pre-approved (contingent upon a home check) we will contact applicants that are a good match and set up a time for a meet. At that time we are happy to answer all of your questions. No inquiries prior to that please. All of our animals are spayed/neutered, examined by a vet, up-to-date on vaccinations, on heartworm and flea/tick preventatives, and microchipped. We adopt our animals as strictly inside companion pets. We will do a veterinarian reference check and a home safety check. We are located in Omaha, NE and we do not ship our animals. We are all volunteers so please be patient with us. Our requested adoption fees help go towards medical expenses, food, transportation, toys, and other supplies for our animals. We are a state licensed, 501c3 nonprofit rescue and the adoption donation may be tax deductible for you.  Thank you for choosing adoption!! April 13, 2025, 3:06 pm

Story
Gunther was born on 1/26/2025.  Dad was a rat terrier and mom was suppose to be a chihuahua/dachshund.  Gunther has had  their puppy vaccinations and wormed since we have had him.  He is a a playful sweet boy.  He is currently about 6.5 lbs.  Not sure how big they will get maybe 12 lbs or so.  Gunther is a typically puppy that likes to play and snuggle and pee.  He is not housetrained but working on kennel training.  To help pay for vet bills and care (transportation, food, toys, etc..) a $350 donation is requested at the time of adoption. For puppies too young to be spayed/neutered a $125 deposit will be required and returned once altered. All of our adoptions are contingent upon an approved application, home visit, reference check, obedience training agreement, and signing of adoption contract. All our dogs are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped before adoption. Our dogs are companion animals that live indoors as part of your family. Please do not apply if your plan is to have them as outside dogs, garage dogs, porch dogs or outside kennel dogs.  We do not ship dogs. All of our dogs are in private foster homes. We are not a shelter with hours. A visit can be arranged after an adoption questionnaire has been filled out and sent in. Please try to email first. We are all volunteers that work so we can not easily take or make phone calls.April 8, 2025, 4:14 pm
