Story
Welcome to rescue, Lilith!  She is a parvo survivor and adjusting to her new surroundings at her foster home.  Lilith is a Rat Terrier, born appx July 1, 2025.  She's getting lots of TLC.  Once she is fully recovered, she will be ready for his next chapter!  We'll share updates and more information about Lilith as we learn more about her! Please Note:  Lilith came to rescue Parvo+ and won’t be able to go to her furever home until released from the vet as she will be “shedding” parvo until then.  We encourage you to apply to adopt so we can start the process now! The suggested adoption donation for Lilith is $525, which includes a lifetime of free relationship-based training for any behavioral problems (not obedience training).  Muddy Paws is a 501c3 non-profit organization meaning that part of your donation MAY be TAX DEDUCTIBLE. We are a 100% volunteer rescue committed to giving animals a second chance at life. All donations go toward that mission. Adoption fees are the primary source of funding for the cost of veterinary care for our animals. In 2022 alone, we provided animal Healthcare totaling over $399,000 covered mainly through adoption fees. Information about the adoption process:  All adoptions require a completed ADOPTION APPLICATION. Once your application has completed our prescreen steps, we will put you in touch with the animal’s foster to see if you and the pet are a good match. If so, we will arrange a meeting for you and the animal. The adoptions for all of our animals will take place in the Omaha, NE area and must be done by the adoptive family in person. We do not ship or deliver. Please Note:  We are a RESCUE, which is different from a shelter. We conduct veterinary and personal reference checks, and a Home Visit (Virtual in some cases) during the application approval process. We always select the right applicant for each animal, based on the animal’s needs. If you and the animal are not a good match, we will help you select another animal, or we will keep your approved application on file for 6 months. To learn about Muddy Paws Second Chance Rescue or donate to our animals, please visit our website at MuddyPawsSecondChanceRescue.com or our Facebook Page Muddy Paws Second Chance Rescue Inc.   If the dog or cat you adopt is older than 6 months of age and not spayed or neutered, you will receive a voucher to alter the pet at Val Verde Animal Hospital in Omaha, at no cost to you.  Or you can alter the pet at your own vet and be reimbursed $100 for dogs, and $50 for cats, of total cost.  If the dog or cat is younger than 6 months of age, adopter will be responsible for the cost of altering the pet at the vet of their choice.  If proof of alter is received by Muddy Paws prior to the pet turning 6 months of age, a reimbursement of $100 for dogs and $50 for cats, will be sent to you to help cover expenses.  [Muddy Paws can also suggest a vet with a reduced cost for alters.]  All puppies and kittens MUST be spayed or neutered by 6 months of age.  All dogs and cats MUST be spayed or neutered no later than one month after adoption is finalized.  Thank you in advance for your compliance. ##2565979##

Story
This adorable 5 year old rat terrier mix might take a minute to warm up, but once he decides you’re his person, he becomes the sweetest little Velcro buddy you’ve ever met. Remy loves nothing more than sticking right by your side and soaking up all the companionship he can get. He’s doing pretty well with his potty training, just keep in mind that if he’s left inside for too long, he may have an accident. He’s a good boy who tries his best! Remy gets along wonderfully with other dogs and cats, and he loves playing with dog friends. Because he bonds so closely with his people, he can sometimes be protective of them or his space, against anybody (dogs, cats, or new strangers) if he feels like they’re getting too close to his humans. He’s overall pretty good at sharing, but his people are precious to him, and he wants to make sure they’re safe. For that reason, we recommend a child-free home or a home with older kids who understand that he needs to take things slow. He’ll also do best in a household that can kennel him or keep him separate when strangers come over, unless those visitors are ready to help him warm up at his own pace. Remy loves being hitched up in a harness for walks, he’ll trot along happily, but he’s not a fan of collars, so a comfy harness is definitely his style. This handsome guy recently had a dental done and had a few teeth pulled, so his mouth is all freshened up and good to go! He’s also vaccinated for rabies, DAPP, and Bordetella, plus he’s microchipped, neutered, heartworm negative and ready for his forever home. If you’re looking for a loyal little shadow with a huge heart, Remy is your guy. Story
THIS POST WILL BE REMOVED WHEN THE DOG IS NO LONGER AVAILABLE. INQUIRIES ABOUT THE ADOPTION STATUS WILL NOT BE RETURNED. "Mama pajama rolled out of bed and she ran to the police station. When the Papa found out he began to shout and started the investigation...." Julio, a 9 month old JRT has changed his ways, LOL! No more "house of detention" for him! Seriously folks, Julio is a good boy and can't wait to find an active person or family who can share his love and keep him physically and mentally challenged. This breed is a small "working" dog who, if not kept busy will find things to do to keep themselves busy, which may not always align with your wishes or the well-being of your household furnishings. He is a happy, friendly, active boy who LOVES to explore the fenced back yard and romp with his canine foster siblings. Julio would be ok as an "only" dog but would also love a doggy companion. He is somewhat crate trained but would prefer sleeping in your bed, and is currently enrolled in HOUSE TRAINING 101 to brush up his skills. Neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccinations, Julio is ready to move on to his forever home! Fenced yard an absolute must and kids over the age of 10 would be fine. The suggested adoption donation for Julio is a minimum of $600 and goes toward the high cost of veterinary care for our rescue dogs.Wag N Train Terrier Rescue adopts to an extended geographical area as long as we can locate a local volunteer to perform the required home visit. Approved adopters are required to travel to Omaha, NE to pick up their newly adopted dog. We do not arrange transport, or fly our rescue dogs without a "pet nanny". All of our dogs that come from a commercial breeding facility require a securely fenced yard AND a resident companion dog, unless the dog's bio states otherwise. Please note, invisible or underground fencing is not considered secure or appropriate containment. Adoption applications can be found at www.wagntrainterrierrescue.com/adoption-information
