Story
Meet Floyd!! If you are looking for the smartest, sweetest, cuddliest and most athletic little guy in the world then Floyd is your boy!! Floyd appears to be a Rat Terrier or could have Smooth Fox Terrier in him as well who weighs 15 pounds, is about 2 years old and has guardian angels with him! Floyd was found at night, curled up in a ball very close to a busy street by the founder of the rescue. He was emaciated with ribs showing, had terrible diarrhea, two cherry eyes (which are scheduled to be repaired in January) and was incredibly frightening as he was shaking. Being so desperate for help he let her pick him up and has now been in rescue for 3 weeks. Floyd has been vetted and is ow doing great! He was treated for parasites, has been steadily putting on weight and has a great appetite. Recently he discovered he loves balls and has been learning to fetch. He is very athletic but he is also calm in the house. He is happy to cuddle or to go for a run on a leash. He attaches to his human VERY easily and wants nothing more than to be with you. He is 100% housebroken and lets you know when he needs to go out and is not a marker at all. He is with a foster family in Vegas that has 3 other dogs and gets along with all people, pets and children. His adoption fee includes: 1. Cherry eye surgery repair 2. Neuter 3. Updated vaccines 4. Microchip 5. Treatment for parasites 6. Starter food 7. New harness and leash His adoption fee is $250. As we prescreen via email ONLY (we do NOT make or receive phone calls in the pre-screening phase) please tell us a bit about you such as: 1. Your lifestyle, activity level and work schedule. 2. Area you live in and if it is a house or apartment. (Please indicate city) 3. How many adults, children and pets in the household. 4. Where your pet stays when you are out or at work. 5. Where your pet will sleep. 6. Dog breed experience 7. Have you ever had to give up a pet 8. If you do not currently have a pet how you will keep Floyd socialized with other dogs Some notes to consider before applying for Floyd: 1.. Floyd is a young, 2 year old dog who has had a terrible start in life. Please make sure that everyone is on board and ready for the responsibility of a young dog. He is totally housebroken but does need continued socialization on leash and off. 2. Please make sure you are ready to adopt before coming to see our adoptable dogs. We are a foster based rescue and do not have the space to hold dogs for a couple of weeks while you vacation or make your way to California to come and adopt. We will adopt out of state but ONLY if the potential adopter comes here to adopt in person and that is after a screening by Skype. WE DO NOT SHIP DOGS EVER. 3. We are often inundated with emails about our adoptable dogs and try as we might to make everyone happy it is nearly impossible with only one dog and sometimes up to 50 potential families. The more information you provide in your email to us the quicker we will get back to you. If you have written to us before about a particular dog and did not receive a response please do try again. We try to answer every email but it is not always possible. Every dog has different home requirements that we search for so sometimes you are the right fit for the dog we are trying to place. 4. PLEASE do NOT send more than one email. It slows down the process. 5. We do not make appointments for people to just come "see" the dogs available. They are in private foster homes and we go through a pre-screening process before any appointments are made. Thank you for choosing to adopt!

Story
Meet Ally (Alee). We call her Al. Ally is a Jack Russell mix. Her paperwork says she’s 16, but we think she could be a few years younger. She was left at the shelter, probably when her human died or became ill. Ally spent most of her life dealing with severe food and skin allergies, which we are working to keep in balance. She will require a strict diet to avoid allergens, weekly foot baths and ear cleaning, and biweekly baths to keep her feeling her best. She’s kinda a grumpy lady when it comes to other dogs- she tolerates mild mannered ones as long as they don’t come between her and a snack or meal. She is pretty bossy and barks at them a lot to pipe down- she IS the Fun Police. Ally does love her human thought and will follow them and stay close by. She doesn’t like to be picked up, but is a great jumper. She loves to cuddle on the bed or on a lap. Al would do best in a home without small children, cats or other small animals. She is mostly deaf, though she does hear loud barking. She still startles easily, and that can upset her. Al is housetrained with a dog door and walks well with a harness. She does get excited seeing other dogs on walks. Ally doesn’t mind a bath, but trimming nails or using a dryer of any kind freaks her out. She is not a shedder.
